Every single part that a mfg requires for there parts to go in, has been purchased. Every step they need for them to honor there warranty has been taken.

^^ truth. I have heard of folks changing without replacing? But I don’t know how preload is maintained on the pinion bearings then. ? nuts, but I don’t think it’s really “that” big of a pain to just pull the carrier and do it right ??‍♂ beats having to do a master overhaul down the road.
The cost difference when paying by the hour and synthetic lube adds considerable cost to do it by the book!

Shouldn't one also replace all of the seals considering they are used and have how many miles on them? Gotta replace the axle bearings to get at the axle seals. If you don't and they leak afterward.......who is liable for that? We already know many trucks have axle seal leaks out of the gate?

Down the rabbithole!

I would have gladly purchased all my parts from the shop. But as a consumer I also have to find the best ways to save. It was cheaper for me by about 15% to buy my parts direct from manufacturer. I can’t say as to the business practices of the shop. However they have been in business for over 20years, it’s a pretty nice shop, they have to be doing something right id imagine.
Hypothetically speaking........A seal leaks or a bearing fails. Who is morally reponsible? The shop will always be blamed as they were at the beginning of this thread?

This is why I have adopted the all or nothing policy.

What comes with the ox locker install bearing kit? What comes with the revolution gear install kit? Don’t both come with bearings, seals, shims… either way don’t want to argue. I am happy with my build. The shop has been nothing but professional after first hiccup. Thank you for your input

Yeah- I’m not disagreeing with you. It’s one of those places that while you’re in there, regardless of the “reason” axle seals etc. are all cheap in comparison to the labor to get there. I would re-use the pinion bearing…. But I also have the right tools to remove them without damaging the cage. ??‍♂?

I believe that this thread is turning into something that it was not intended for. I appreciate everyone’s comments and insight. I have solved the original issue I was having.
