Noob Question: Does 4Hi cause MPG to drop?

Yeah, it was running in the 3,000's quite a bit. When i hit the level and away from the wind it hit 6th, and once in a while 7th.

Not sure with a Jeep why one worries about an extra 1/2 to 1 mpg.
I found that while I could coast in neutral down my neighbor's shared driveway in the summer, it wouldn't roll down that drive with the snow - I had to have it in gear and press the gas. And that was mostly packed snow.

I love it when I can squeeze some mpg out of this brick, but I'll do whatever is safe and prudent at the time, forget the mpg. If that means 4H or whatever, so be it. I'll run all week in 4HA.

I'll check back in a week, then?

My first car was a 1969 Pontiac Catalina with a 400 V8. It got 8 mpg! So now, if I get more than that, I’m happy. ?
