This reminds me of what was told to me by my friend's grandfather when I was about 10 yrs old. He was about 80 yrs old and a mechanic since he was a kid. "A good mechanic only needs 6 tools. A large and small screw driver. A large and small hammer. And a large and small crescent wrench. The small tools for fine adjustment. The large tools for course adjustment". I remember him having a selection of hammers on the wall.
