Damn, I forgot about those...
When I was in high school in the mid 70's. I worked at a gas stastation. I had to change those out. It's a roll of towel like toilet paper. As you pull down, the one end rolls up in the bottom. It's not a loop like most people think.

Yeah, in the 60s one of my first jobs was at a "Standard" station (before it became Chevron), pumping gas, washing windshields, always checking the oil, cleaning the toilets... But they had paper in the bathrooms back then. Why in the hell our uniforms were white is beyond me. They never came clean. Took out my first engine there.

I worked at a Boron Oil station. They're all gone now.

The shop I worked in had a gas station out front. When the people who operated that part were gone, my boss and I filled in. The restroom was shared between the shop and the station.
Kerr McGee (remember the Blue Velvet oil?).
I'll never forget the sign my boss put above the toilet:
We aim to please
You aim, too, please

The station I worked at was in a college town. Hot shorts, mini shirts, no bras. It was paradise for a teenage boy.

The Texaco I worked at in high school had an account with the assisted living home behind the station. My scenery wasn't as nice...
