Amish have loopholes and workarounds for about everything in some way, especially the new order Amish.

I have seen work construction sites they are on and they are allowed to use air tools, no electric, but they will have a gas generator running to power the air compressor or even have a gasoline powered air compressor. The catch is there is that degree of mechanical/electrical separation of the air doing the work for them. I have seen them also pull a horse drawn hay baler with a gas motor running the other functions on the baler.

I've seen telephone booths in front of their houses on the road.
