Can’t recall the Chevrolet model name but if you purchased a Silverado a few years back you could get a free car for your daughter to take to college.

Edit to ad, it was the Aveo. Free Car

I agree. I can't believe they made it through the weekend. I hope we resupply them with weapons soon. They are kicking a lot of ass with very little help! God bless them.
I can remember those early to mid 1980's Chevette and Pontiac T1000's. I had a 82 Chevette and while it was craptastic in almost any measurement, it was cheap and easy to fix and keep going.

Until the Yugo and first Hyundai's arrived, it was about the cheapest vehicle one could buy in the USA. I can remember the local Chevy dealer selling tons of them with usually a package deal if you bought a Chevy C10 Silverado trim truck, you could pick up a stripped Chevette for like half MSRP.
Did your's ever break the crank damper bolt? They were famous for doing that. And putting the damper into the radiator. Plus the firewall was so weak. If you stomped on the brakes hard enough. It would bend the sheet metal. And this would then cause the piston in the master brake cylinder not retrace back enough. Causing the fluid pressure not to release. Wearing out the front brake pads. When I was at the chevy dealership. we had to install 1/8" alignment shims between the fire wall and the master brake cylinder.

The Cosworth Vega was advertised as one Vega for the price of 2 Vega's. It was double the cost of a regular Vega. $4000 vs $8,000.

Been 35+ years but I do not recall any crank bolt issues. It had the obscure Isuzu I4 diesel that leaked like the Exxon Valdez but it got me everywhere I needed as a High School kid.

I do remember if you drove over a rail road crossing too fast and at the wrong angle, a set of new ball joints was in your immediate future. Also had an odometer that was a 5 digit one and shortly after rolling over 100K, would give some error message I cannot remember on the tumblers. Basically made you think it was a throw away after 100K.

I probably got close to 200K on it before it just became structurally unusable and I was not even in a rust belt state. The diesel motor was still ticking along and actually pulled it for a friend that used it for a agriculture water pump motor on a farm for many years later.

Looking back, I would have probably died in any moderate collision accident with it.

Dating the first wifey. She had a Vega that dripped oil. Pull into a gas station, check the gas and fill the oil. LOL She carried at least 4 qts of oil in the car. None of the bolts that held the transmission to motor would stay tight. Even with red lock tite. About once a month I as under that POS. The whole under the car was soaked in oil.
