Exactly. My uncle would let me drive the tractor up to the neighbors farm when he went for a visit. Biggest thrill in my 12 year old life!

I grew up in a VERY small town in TN. I started driving the 3/4 ton long bed Ford truck we owned when I was 10 or 11. My dad took me out to the gravel parking lot by the baseball fields and let me ease behind the wheel. That eventually led to him letting me drive him around our 2-redlight town. I had to sit on the front edge of the bench seat because my feet wouldn't touch the pedals if I sat back any further. We would pass the local sheriff deputies and they would just waive. Good times.

Going back to the original thread, apparently this will be the last jeep I will ever own....


Uhm yeah, I guess... EU is imposing a speed limiting device similar to start and stop,.... and our vehicle (bought for 60k is now going for 79k) is not going to be importable in near future, i hope eu changes their mind

Pissed we don't have the cash to buy another gladiator and stash it for now

This is how I started:

In 1943, Pap was 9. His father had bought a 'shed', (re. old chicken coup). So they loaded the shed onto a flat wagon and Pap drove the tractor while his father followed behind in the car to make sure everything went okay for the 4 mile trip.
Pap got pulled over by the State Police. He proceeded to get a ticket for not having a permit to move an oversized load. He was 9.
