What’s wrong with the one that you have?

I don't think it will just work that way. I'm pretty sure the BCM has some type of control in the activation of that system. Along with the light sensor that needs to be present. Not saying the upgrade cannot be done. Just fairly confident that just swapping the light controls won't achieve that.

You are probably right, I’ll see if the tazer mini can do something about it or look into having the dealership add it

I do not think you can readily add the auto headlamps function to a vehicle without it. The sun load sensor for the auto headlamps goes through the HVAC controller only on the Auto AC systems that is in the Convenience Group package or higher trims with it. If you have the lower trim package manual AC single zone HVAC controller, it is not setup to handle the sun load sensor function if it is even wired for it at all.

FWIW, there is a thread on the JL side DIY section for adding the sun sensor and AUTO HVAC controller but it was written before the 2024 and up dash upgrade so it may not be 100% applicable.

that’s actually incorrect 95%+ of Jeeps have the DZ ATC controller but are being told to operating in SZ MTC by the BCM, In-fact Every JT is DZ ATC in mechanical functionality It’s just a missing actuator + two temp sensors + and a tiny gear linking PassZ and DriveZ, that is the difference. For ATC just have to add the cabin Temp Sensor.

anyways most jeeps are wired for this but you gotta have sun sensor (there are two different ones gotta have the one for auto headlights) + automatic headlight switch + enabled in ECU config (dealer sales code or other method)

if you have this cables plugged into the HVAC Controller your pre wired for ATC and Auto Headlamps

As far as I know there is 0 differences between 2024 and 2025 JTs, if you pop the empty sun sensor plug and it’s holding the cable it should work.

I’m literally waiting on the switch now to do this to mine so if you just want to wait until Friday I’ll be able to tell you for sure if this works or not, I’m about 99% confident tho

For now see if that highlighted cable is installed, it requires no removal of any panels and can be seen directly above the gas pedal, I used a phone in selfy mode.

Please let me know I'll send you a private message I'm really looking to do this. I just ordered the proximity door kit and my Jeep is already wired for it I have pins 15 and 16 in the door harness. My guess is that I'm already wired for the sun sensor
