OEM inverter question/help

I know this is a bit of a dead thread but I finished my bed outlet install today in an ecodiesel JT Rubicon that had the COVID OEM Inverter delete. Wiring was up under the dash for the inverter and taped off to the side. I was able to determine this when I was shopping ebay for inverters and saw one with the wiring harness. Matched it to the one under my dash and was confident I had the necessary wiring. Ordered an inverter with a bracket from eBay and picked up the center console oulet as well and installed them. After I confirmed I had the outlet working on the interrior, I ordered the bed kit with the replacement panel and switch included. I was able to install this but it took some digging to find the switch wire and I had to unscrew the speaker to get at the wire that was hidden under the dash and untape it. THIS WAS A PITA. Put everything all back together, tweaked the computer settings and I have the bed outlet working now. Diesel is a littl more difficult to work on the harness under the bed because the exhaust is in the way. Took me a few hours and some blood but confirmed that this is possible. Next OEM upgrade is probably going to be heated seats/wheel.

FINALLY!!!!. Someone with an answer for people without the inverter from the factory. Do you by chance have a picture of the power inverter with the bracket and wire harness you sourced from ebay or a part number for the harness and bracket? I'm shopping for it myself looking to add the factory power to the center console and bed. I do not want to go aftermarket.

Before you get too excited, you need to make sure the factory wiring is there to connect the inverter. Those with the delete due to a parts shortage should have the wire there. Trucks that were ordered without the inverter are not likely to have all the necessary wiring installed.

This being stated, these are the steps I took to determine if I could install my inverter.

1. Open the panel below the steering column. I found a wire bundle taped to the side near the transmission tunnel with the two following connectors. I matched these against an inverter (68302053AE) pull from a gladiator on eBay.

2. Separate the back panel off of the center console by removing the two screws up top under the flip lid on the inside. There should be a wire taped up for the console outlet. (outlet p/n 68547759AA)

3. After confirming the wiring was available I ordered both parts, my bracket was cut (as seen in the image) but most of 68294415AA was present, at least enough for me to mount it with existing hardware I had that were 6mm bolts I ran a tap for in the lower part of the mounting bracket.



After this, I took a gamble for the rear bed outlet install. I ended up finding the wires for connecting the bed switch after taking an endoscope and running it under the vent after removing all of the necessary dash panels. This was taped up above the speaker on the lower driver side and behind/under the vent by the steering wheel. I had to unbolt the speaker and remove my previously installed inverter to get at the tape to undo the wiring bundle and pull it out. This took way longer than I wanted it to. I don't have photos because it was cold and I just wanted to be done with it...

Thanks for the info everyone. I took a look today and I found this zip tied up near the lower part of the panel near the transmission tunnel. I believe there are the correct connectors needed for the inverter. Only issue I did run into is I can’t seem to find the connector that would plug into the outlet behind the center console. Any tips where it may have been tied off? I’m currently trying to look through the hole in the rear having a hard time

It was super hard to find on mine. Was fully taped so looked like a lumpy cable. I was working on another project so had dash parts removed, and it took every angle to find it and un-tape it.
My JTWD was part of the inverter delete covid times, so if yours was the same, I can’t imagine it’s not taped up there somewhere especially since you have the Inverter connections.
