Mopar Inverter Delete

Thinking of deleting this for a few reasons. Does anyone have a good reason to keep it?

My reasons for deleting:
1) I want the space where the switch is for a switch panel. It works better for me than the factory aux switches that I already have.

2) 400 watts ain’t gonna run much and the spaces the outlets take could run MANY times the amount of equipment on 12V and give me a good spot in the bed for Anderson plug outlet for “things”.

3) it’s a piece of gear in the Jeeps electrical I don’t see myself needing in a very inconvenient spot. Under the steering wheel is prime real state for radios, maybe a small safe, bazooka….. you get the picture.

Give me your feedback on all of this. For those that installed one during the dark days of “Inverter COvID Deletes” has it been worth it to add the inverter?

My truck doesn't have an inverter and I use a small 300 watt one that plugs into the cigarette outlet in lieu of not having a built in.

Use it for charging radio and tool batteries sometimes, and have used it for air mattress pump.

It's sandwiched in there pretty tight. The net usable space is not really worth the effort to remove the inverter. Disconnecting the plug in the bed and putting 12V power in the space could be useful.

You may be correct there. My biggest thing is removing the switch from under the headlight controls. I’ll have to see if the outlet in the cab has power when the switch is disconnected. Maybe I’ll keep that one in there as a “Just in Case”. The one in the bed is definitely going bye bye.

That’s a good point. I plan to do something like a Bauer 2 battery charger and maybe a single Ryobi in the bed at some point. That’s all the battery tools I use for trail work. Bauer for impact and Ryobi for a chainsaw even though it’s not needed as much in the desert.

The interior outlet is live whenever the engine is running. The button only controls the outlet in the bed. Getting to the plug on the end of the wire to remove the button is not going to be easy. Adding the button requires removing part of the dash.

That’s ok. I have acquired a full arsenal of trim tools over the years. I was just trying to get a better understanding of how it all worked and see if anyone could talk me out of it.

I don't have the switch or the bed outlet, but do have the one on the back side of the center console. I use it to inflate an air mattress from time to time. Have used it to quick charge cell phones, charge tool batteries. I've even plugged my son's Dometic 75qt 12v fridge/cooler into it while we traveled.
At times I wish I had the bed 120v plug. If I ever get my own 12v cooler I'll add the 120v to the bed and a 12v plug also while I'm there.

I bought a 1KW Ecoflow Delta 3 plus. 1.8k output plus other ports. Wired a solar connector to battery and a harness to use always on power at hitch 7 pin plug. At 14 volts running charges about 120 watts. Portability was my main goal.
