So a guy near me is selling a set of LED headlights from a 2019 JL for a steal.

I have a 20' gladiator so my understanding is that i need to get the jumper to get them to work correctly.

that part used to be $60 and is now $200 plus.

is there any work around that people have come up with?

Just tie that wire to a fuse tap on fuse 52(?)- the space for the wireless speaker. It supplies power when the vehicle is on.

which wire?
You'd run a new wire from the passenger side headlight to the fuse box to supply power from that fuse to the DRL circuit of the headlight. You'd also have to install a jumper wire from the passenger headlight to the driver headlight to share that power to both headlight DRLs.

If this is hard to understand (no judgment) you may be better off buying the premade cable.

There's all sorts of DIY walkthroughs on both this and the JL forums, I'm not sure anyone has ever made an aftermarket plug and play cable assembly that you're looking for though. You could probably ask @Diode Dynamics to send you one of their headlight cables from their Elite Series headlights and you could probably get that to work.

at the end of the day this is essentially a couple wires, and 4 molex pins and tesa tape isnt it?

if you wanted it to operate the same as the OEM harness it should be pretty easy to make, or am i missing something?

find out how long i need to make it, plug it into the BCM, pin the oem connector and plug away?

If you want OEM integration, yes you'll need to run a wire into the cab and also use a programmer to tell the vehicle computer you now have the OEM LED headlights so it activates power to that BCM wire for the halos. This will allow you to toggle some settings in the UConnect software and is probably the way you should install it. The programmer is also needed to tell the vehicle you have LED headlights instead of halogen so it doesn't cause you any flickering issues.

Otherwise, the easy method is not run your power wire into the cab to the BCM but instead just get power from the fuse box, but you won't have ability to change any settings in UConnect and they'll just come on whenever the vehicle is on. You'd still want a programmer to change headlight settings to LED to avoid flickering.

Agree with above - wiring to the BCM is hell. Don't do it. I don't see the need to control the halos with BCM.

Aux switch install doesn't involve any BCM grabs, just the lower connectors. BCM is shoved up in the kickpanel and is a pain in the ass.
