I wanted to go with one piece lug nuts and found some McGard lug nuts that are M14 x 1.5 that are supposed to be the correct ones. But a side by side comparison has me wondering. This is the McGard 84527 Lug Nut Installation Kit. The OEM nut has the ring behind the cone where the McGard does not. Is the ring just part of the chrome cover that crimps onto the lug nut and does nothing for holding the wheel on? It also does not look like the cone on the McGard is as deep. What brands are others using and does the replacement have the "ring" or is that just cosmetic? It looks like the it contacts the rim.

Hard to tell against that background but it doesn't look like the angle of the cone is the same on those?

Think you would want the depth of the cone to be the same / similar as OE. The clamping force that the lug exerts from the stud to the wheel gets applied across the surface of the cone. Having the force concentrated on a smaller area where the aluminum wheel is thinner doesn't seem great for long term reliability.

I ran those on my stock Mojave wheels for a couple years before getting new wheels without an issue. The cone is not as wide as the stock lugs nuts, but I had no issues and torqued down fine.

I see that the McGard P/N 64014 seems to have the right specs, but AutoZone says it doesn’t fit a 2024 Gladiator.
Does anyone know if they will fit and work with stock aluminum wheels?

I think the Gorilla Automotive 66148DX Lug Nut, 14mm x 1.50 has a bigger surface area in the 60 degree cone and might be a better fit. It is also available in Black.

I was surprised to find out that the OEM locking lug nuts are manufactured by McGard. I would contact them for fitment information.
