You take off ALL existing weights - and start with no weights to balance. You don't leave any weights on. That's dynamic balancing - you can't leave them on.
Apparently you aren't familiar with balancing.
Why did you want them balanced to begin with - aren't they the stock new tires for the truck?
Anyway, taking off weights is normal. You start with no weights when balancing. Or did you not want them balanced?
It's contradictory to want wheels balanced but complain about weights being taken off.
Hardly worth the effort of mounting it on the balance machine if you are not going to do the actual balance with a wheel that has no weights on it to start. The goal is to end up with the minimum amount of weights required to balance the wheel. Starting with the weights still on may result in adding weights to offset the weights already there. the machine does not have an option that says “remove weight”.
You’re right but it does have the option to tell you if they’re in or out of balance from the start without adding or removing unless they are
Had they had just checked without removing the weights first it would’ve saved the headache if they were in balance to being with, now they’re clearly not because ride quality is adversely effected now because of their negligence
It’s not an option - it either is balanced or it isn’t. If it isn’t, then you have to remove the existing weights and start over. Just simpler to remove the weights and then balance it fresh If you are going to the trouble to put it on the machine.
And if you're asking that the balance be checked, 99% of the time it's because you're experiencing a problem. It's just not worth the time to simply, "Check," the balance for the (maybe) 1% of the customers like yourself.
