From all the reading I have done, it sounds like off road pages was a science fair project worked on by several 10-year-old kids but Im wondering if anyone has seen this and actually fixed the issue. Some of the information works but as you can see most is not working (no Im not locked)...

I have tried taking out the fuse for 10ish minutes to reset the radio but that didn't change anything.
Im using Jscan, did I miss something I was supposed to activate?

Last Jeep you'll own? Sounds like a trip to the dealership.

Not sure the dealer will help...As I said I used Jscan to get things up and running (8.4 is not associated with my VIN). I will ask next time Im there but might not be a solution.

The off-road pages are vin locked. It's verified over the web every time you pull them up. You can use the ones on the instrument panel, but the ones on the 8.4" are OTA. Not sure it shows anything different though. Don't think so, other than coordinates.

Thats interesting since some of it is working and other parameters are not...I suppose I will have a talk with my dealer, see how friendly they really want to be

Bingo.

There were times when I'd start my truck, especially when it was parked under the lean-to by my shop, I had no OR pages for a couple of miles and when that happened, it moved from the menu to another spot.
It's not been a problem since I started parking up in my garage as the door is usually open when I start it.

No wonder it’s slow af, and probably explains why it randomly goes missing from your dock if you add it as a favorite.

Once again showcasing how security measures only end up impacting the “good” users.

And seriously, why does a glorified OBD app need to be behind such scrutiny? They literally use this data for their own systems for checks and balances. Reminds me of the awesome scene in CSI: “It’s a GUI interface using Visual Basic to track the killer’s IP address!”

I can't see why it has to check every single time - unless it's doing that in case someone went to the junk yard and bought the radio and installed it in a truck for which that was never paid for.
I can see that - you didn't pay for those options so it's like software making sure it's a valid/paid for copy. Pirating.........

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's nothing new on those off-road pages, is there, other than GPS coordinates and altitude? Isn't it the same info that's on the cluster? Angles, inclination, temperatures, etc?

You get the gauges displayed all at once instead of constantly scrolling, especially if towing and wanting to monitor things.

I believe jscan has worked on a similar display

Off Road Pages is a feature that was originally only offered in the higher end trims (Rubicon, Overland). It uses the cellular connection in the 8.4 Uconnect to check in and confirm the VIN stored in the head unit is authorized to display the Off Road Pages. If it can't check in, or the VIN is not authorized, the icon doesn't appear. The satellite antenna also needs to be connected so the GPS will function to display the Altitude and Coordinates.

So riddle me this...You buy one off of someone (with the correct code)
You install it
The OFR icon appears and runs but doesn't show all functions

If it isn't authorized why is it showing up and showing some of the info correctly?

If what you are saying is correct the icon should not be showing at all...Not saying you are wrong, Im just trying to understand.
