Does anyone know what is the safe offset/backspace needed for Clayton 3.5" Overland + lift kit with Falcon adjustable shocks?

I'm pretty sure you need 4.5 backspacing to clear their arms. I'll let someone with their kit confirm that though.

They are pretty active on the forum too if you message them

I’m running their lower control arms, with 37s on +12 offset/5.2” backspacing wheels on my Rubicon. There was very minor rubbing on the control arms, so I put a washer under each steering stop. 0 offset/4.5” backspacing wheels would have prevented the rubbing. What size tires do you plan to run, and what trim do you have?

It’s a Rubicon and I am planning on 37” 12.5 on 17x 9 wheel. I don’t want the wheels to stick out too much but need to make sure they clear the setup.

I'm running their 2.5" Overland plus with 37x12.50r17 Patagonias and 17x9 0 offset wheels. No rubbing at all.

I did contact them but haven't heard back. I am sure they are super busy coming back from the holidays. Normally they are very responsive.

This was their response:

"For best results, we recommend going with a backspacing around 4.75, unless you plan on using a tire that is 11.5" wide in which case you can get away with a backspacing in the low to mid 5's range."

I most likely will go with 1MM offset since the wheels I want comes only in that offset and I don't want to have the tires stick out too much. 1MM on 17x9 would be about 5" backspace. According to Discount Tire's, it should be fine with 3.5" lift.
