The guy on that bike was looking for a fight. What an entitled douche. He was way out of line. I can’t imagine if I started a fight with everyone who made an illegal turn in front of me or did something illegal that almost made me wreck or likely killed. He’s lucky he didn’t get the shit kicked out of him in the middle of the street.

In a way the biker is in the wrong, actually picked up speed into situation, passed all the cars slowing down, then instead of waiting, goes into turn lane and is on the guys truck, creating a confrontation that didn't have to happen.... Takes two to Tango. just sayimg......jack
I agree. The biker could have kept his cool. He had plenty of time to slow down but instead he revved up and got pissy. And I could be wrong but if someone hit the truck at that point and made contact with the bed/rear tire, then they'd be at fault, not the jeep.

As a motorcycle rider, I'm gonna peg the confrontation on the motorcycle guy.
He had plenty of time to stop and he accelerated past cars in the video and then instigated the situation.

Not an ideal U-Turn by the gladiator driver, but from the looks of that road, it looks like it's always a possibility which the motorcycle guy seemed to know about and was just itching to film a situation like this.

The guy had Florida plates. Lots of different U turn laws in Florida. Anyone from Florida want to chime in?
JT owner 100% in the wrong.. he crossed a lane of traffic and did not have the anywhere to go... yeild to the right of way... left lane traffic has the right of way.. he's an asshole and then defers the blame.. If that bike went over his hood and died, he would be in jail.. stupid people like this is why we have a traffic light on every corner!!!

Hood, yes. But it was the back of the vehicle. Different laws for different states but I'm pretty sure if you hit the back or back side of someone's vehicle then you are at fault.

To me it seemed like the biker had an attitude coming into this situation. It's not like he had to stop short or slide his bike to prevent a crash. He was just inconvenienced and that made him mad

Floridian here. U-turns are a very common because city road planning officials are idiots here so u-turns are necessary. As long as there’s not a “no u-turn” sign posted (which there isn’t in this case) then he was legal to make a u-turn so long as he can safely yield to oncoming traffic. With that being said, it looked like all oncoming traffic was slow/stopped except for that biker who was debatably far enough away. I would have made that u-turn myself under those circumstances. If the person recording was a car and not a bike, the person would have just slowed down and waited for the gladiator to complete the u-turn. At worst, he maybe would have honked his horn and that was it.

u turn does not have the right of way.. in "ALL" traffic patterns left straight lane has right of way! only way the bike is in the wrong is if he speeding

I have a bike and rarely ride because of these situations. You would have an attitude as well when this is a daily issue for motorcycles... pinellas county, fl has the highes pedestrian accidents in the country.. how the fuck do you get hit by a car?!?!?!?!? huh, please explain cause my mama taught me to cross the street!

A lot of pedestrian accidents happen on 4 lane residential streets (2 lanes of traffic each way). Imagine a crosswalk across such a road with a marked sign that says yield to pedestrians in crosswalk. A car in the right lane stops to let a pedestrian cross the crosswalk. An approaching car in the left lane can’t see the pedestrian because the person crossing the road is blocked from their view by the stopped car. Then the pedestrian suddenly comes into view directly in front of the approaching car in the left lane with no time to stop.

I have plenty of friends who ride and are smarter than this. He was definitely looking for trouble. If anything he gives riders a bad name with his "catch me if you can" mentality.

That's the case in a lot of places - unless there is a sign, a u-turn is not illegal.
In fact in countries, it's about the only way to "get to the other side".
And funny thing - I've had GPS's including Jeep's own NAV systems flat-out say "make a u-turn at the next intersection" and even in other places.

I lived in FL for 20 years. As one before me said, U turns are legal unless there is a sign prohibiting them. The biker was looking for a confrontation. He got one. Merry Christmas to morons everywhere. Someone please lock this thread. This weekend should be about joy, not anger. No matter what any of us believe, if we were not there, what do we care?

Florida man here.
U turns are allowed unless posted.
Gladiator driver shouldn't have attempted u turn unless he could establish himself in a lane instead of blocking the whole road. My guess is he knew he completely cut off traffic and it gave him a good sense of empowerment. There's a lot of those drivers down here. Or as the locals like to call them- transplanted Yankees.
That's enough to piss off the pope so I get the biker's attitude but still... Don't touch other people's stuff.
