Did I share that I was old?

Did I share this was my first Jeep?

Did I share that I had the steering TSB done.

Did I share that the dealer claimed to align the front end.

Did I share Justin Case, that I had a local Firestone align it to preferred specs.

Did I share I put some reasonably sized tires 285-65-18 on a -18 backspaced rim?

What did I want to ask again?

CARP!

Oh yeah ...................

With the new tires, with the new offset, the steering tends to wander a bit over irregularities on the road.

Wider stance, more leverage on pieces parts, and stuph.

Would an an aftermarket steering stabilizer help?

If so, who makes a good bolt on, in factory locations?

Wait, who are you and what are you doing in my yard!

Get off my grass!

I think it's time for my pills.

Where are my pills.

Thanks, whatever your name is, I don't remember.

Check the air pressure in your tires. Probably 40 psi or higher.

Try 36 psi and see if she has better manners.

I run 32 psi on my 35x12.50.

Tar snakes and road seams are still going to affect the steering feedback.

Turn yer frickin blinker off ya old geezer.

Funny you should say that!

What did you say again?

Left my blinker on, and a picture of my very Gladiator popped up!

With the prompt below:

"Turn yer frickin blinker off ya old geezer"

So I turned the radio up, and it kept flashing.

Running 37 PSI in all tires.

Pressure checked with the valve stems at twelve o'clock.

It's the time I wake up, and this way all the pressure is at the top.

My toe-in was off from factory. Had a shop adjust to 1/8" in. Drives great. What did Firestone say your toe-in was? Steering stabilizer is just a band-aid. Why did you go with such a negative off-set?

" Old farts smell worse?? "

.............. Depends .............
I would have to agree, on average old farts do smell worse. Of course, when you get old, it's harder to tell if its just a fart or a leaky O-Ring.

I didn't think anyone would mention this. But yes. Try this.

Toe-in makes a car track straight ahead. Check the factory spec. If you are already way over it, then maybe not. But a bit over factory is fine.

as an aside, back when I was a kid, my dad and I autocrossed an RX7. We actually raced the car with toe OUT. It was miserable to drive on the highway. It was constantly darting off center.

Lame reasons, Ol' Fart reasons. Wanted white rims, I'm used to measuring backspace the Ol' Fart way. What's the -18 BUSHWA!

Hard to teach an old trick a new dog.

You might smoke me! ZERO prescribed meds! My VA Docs are actually doing a study on me to find out, how, at my age that's possible. I tell 'em, I'm mean and ornery so diseases and illness's know it's best not to reside here. They run in fear. I take sickness, chew it up, and spit it out, then urinate and defecate on it. That kind of mean.
