Curious what all you can tell me about the Jamboree. A few years ago I went to the Top of the Ozarks Jamboree with my WJ and had a blast. So now that I have my new Mojave, I thought it would be a great idea to take a road trip to Ouray (from Texas) for the Jamboree. I got home, logged in to their website and was there to hit "Register" for the Ouray trip the second it turned green. Imagine my surprise when it took me directly to the place to sign up for the Waiting List!!! I literally got signed up on the waiting list and got their response while it was still 5:00, which is when it opened for registration! Were any of you able to sign up this time (or in the past) and is it common for it to sell out in mere seconds? I'm absolutely blown away...

Just roll up there and act like a dingleberry. They will never know you’re there.

I don’t have anything to add other than it is amazing and I’m jealous of that. In my four years in CO, it was far and away the most beautiful place we visited.

Lately, it's been common for some of the jamborees to go straight to a waiting list. Happened with the Moab jamboree too. Texas Spur went to a waitlist within minutes.

If you are on the waitlist early, chances are good you will get a spot. But don't hold me to that. Lol.

I managed to get into Moab, but on the waitlist for Texas Spur.

I think the Platinum members can pre-register, so that reduces the open spots for the rest of us.

They are really fun though :)

Thanks for the information, you've been most helpful. I didn't realize there was a Platinum status that gave pre-registration spots but it certainly explains why I wasn't able to register within 5 seconds of it opening up. I'd have to imagine I'm on the list early (I hope) and so I'll hope to get a spot for there somewhere down the line. Thanks again!

The problem is essentially what you posted. You, your relocated family and all the caliradoians have taken all the spots from all the longtime residents and natives. I remember when this state didn’t suck, I miss that.

The problem on the horizon is, eventually Platinum Status will evolve into instant sell out/waiting list of the popular Jamborees and there will be an even more expensive option/group that JJUSA will want you to buy into to have a shot at a popular Jamboree. I got lucky last year and made it into Ouray without Platinum status on my first attempt. JJUSA will continue to make money like crazy, but I think they should take some of their popular events and have 2 at the same location (Ouray) maybe a few weeks apart to allow more Jeepers the chance to attend. As far as Ouray, any trail they take you on, you can do yourself without the expense of doing a Jamboree. What a Jamboree gets you is, camaraderi, meals, and on the off chance you break down, assistance is close at hand. I have been to a lot of Jamborees but you can have the same amount of fun without fighting the masses to sign up and attend.

That’s one of the biggest problems with CO. The “natives” are awful to people who move there. It’s one of the main reasons I left. I missed southern hospitality.

I had the same issue as you today. Was logged in and ready to go and at 5 pm, was immediately taken to Waiting List. It was just like buying tickets for a concert on Ticketmaster, all gone before anyone else gets a chance. I'm on the waiting list too and hopefully I can get in. I've already reserved a hotel room and taken vacation for this trip for next year.

For those that missed out on the Jeep Jamboree registration, you should check out the Mile-Hi Jeep Club and their All-4-Fun event. The 2022 event information hasn't been released yet, but they offer a week long event at a different location in Colorado each year. Five days of trail rides, a vendors day and several meals are included at a much cheaper price than a Jeep Jamboree. My friend went to the event in Empire several years ago and had a great time. Last year I believe it was in Leadville. Typically held end of July, beginning of August.

Yeah F that. That's why we all should plan our own trip for a week or so. Go out go wheeling, camp, tell stories, have fun. Enjoy the great outdoors!

If you were born here and lived here in the 60s-90’s you’d understand.

Not sure if that was intended for me, but I haven't relocated to Colorado...I just wanted to take a vacation to offroad there at a Jamboree.
Lol I read your post. I’m just saying every Californian and Texan can’t stop moving or vacationing here, that’s why there’s no spots and sells out in seconds. If it makes you feel better, I’ve paid taxes here my whole life and not even I can go.
