Well that sucks!Reports on onX say it’s washed out and closed![]()
How does Titus Canyon look on your OnX? You pass by Rhyolite that way.Plan is to go in at North pass off 168, head down to Warm springs, up over Lippincott pass the next day to The Racetrack, maybe Steele pass to eureka dunes, Ubehebe Crater and out down to furnace creek, back up to Beatty and home.
I'm in Phoenix right now, I will check it out when I head home.Titus canyon is closed still last time I checked. Using Gaia.
Yeah, there are so many things to see down there. Barker Ranch, Goldbottom Mine etc.Well back from Death Valley. Decided from someone else posting that a good in spot would be Cerro Gordo Ghost Town. The drive up was uneventful. The drive down was a bit spicier. Helene took her toll on the road. They (NPS?) or other haven't really gotten around to fixing that portion of the road. Also might have just gone down the wrong road. Got to White Mountain Talc road and up Hunter Mountain Rd.

Spent the night up there. Then down to the Racetrack via Lippincott pass which there are certain sections that are graded. But IMO it's rough and still a narrow shelf road.

From there it was down to Saline Valley warm springs. Absolutely fantastic soak in the tubs. (Clothing optional)
We got Tea Kettle Junction and the Batpole

We wanted to see the Southern part of the park too. Got a campsite at Furnace Creek. Got to Badwater Basin and Artists Pallette.
If I decide to go again. I'll definitely rethink my entry point. Probably North Pass. Easiest in point and lots of other trails to hit there.
Don't let anyone say that the roads down there are easy. Full of rocks that will puncture your tires and punish your suspension. The wash board is absolutely horrid, no matter whether you air down or not. Thankfully we didn't have any issues.
If anyone wants to go. I'm game again.
Foil outFor those who use insulation foam board. If you have foil, which side does the foil face? Out or in? I assume in would help keep warm in winter but foil facing out would be better for heat coming in.
