Anyone using these or have experience with OX lockers? I kinda like the manual capability option.

I put an East Coast Gear Supply bolt in Dana 60 in the rear of my old 2nd Gen Tacoma. That was built with an air actuated OX locker. I absolutely loved the OX.

Especially, since I had ARBs prior. Unfortunately, I had ARBs that were built during the time period that they were having tons of defective internal seal issues. I sent both of my ARBs back for warranty two times each. Needless to say, I was glad to replace the rear one.

The nice thing about OX lockers, is there is only one O-ring to go bad, and it’s right where the air fitting goes into the diff cover. Couldn’t be any easier to replace one if it does go bad. The ARB is a diff tear down to change one stupid little O-ring.

The Ox lockers are all the same wether air, electric, or manual. Only the actuator is different.

Another big plus of the OX locker is the “Drive Away Lock”. It is a barrel screw setup that you can screw into the diff cover where whatever type of actuator you decide to use goes.

If you loose air, electric, or your manual cable were to break, or whatever, you can remove the actuator, screw the Drive Away Lock in in its place, and manually lock the OX to get yourself out of trouble.

I really wanted OX lockers when I built my Gladiator, but they were on backorder. I ended up going with Eaton E-lockers, because I will never use an ARB again. The Eatons are fine, but I’d much rather have OXs.

As a matter of fact, I’m about to have ECGS build me a rear 60 for the JT. It will have an electrically actuated OX in it 100%.

you can see where the air fitting went into the right side of the diff cover in this pic. That’s where the drive away lock goes if need be.
