Replaced my oil cooler about a month ago. When I was disconnecting the fuel supply line from the fuel manifold (the one right front and center in the vee of the engine), I dropped the red safety clip and it was gone. Now, I want to point out, this particular line has TWO safety clips, one red, one blue, and they "enter" the housing of the quick connect from opposite directions. When I put it back together it seemed perfectly secure with just the blue clip holing it on, and it was good for a month, but then I went wheeling yesterday and I think the blue clip jiggled itself loose, because I smelled gas today. Popped the line back on, re-set the blue clip and put a zip tie on it to hold it in place, but now I feel like I should track down a red clip. I am no sure if it's one of the generic Dorman ones, I'm not really even sure if it's purpose is to secure the hose connection, or if it's meant to grab the blue connector and interlock it to prevent it from popping off. Mopar parts diagrams just show the entire fuel suppy line assembly, and I assume that's how they want you to buy the clip.

Anyone know the part number, or if any of the generic clips will work?

Thanks,
Darel

Yeah, found that, not paying $100 when a ziptie should work fine.

This is one of those things I would just suck up and spend the coin for a complete replacement line out of abundance of caution. I would not trust a zip tie fix for something that could be critical in the event of a major crash and possible fuel/fire situation.

I would have to agree, for safety reasons. If the fuel lines have to be disconnected, it is better to replace them with all new lines. The possibility of the line coming loose, especially with recycled clips, creates a major safety hazard.
