Noticed my up/down motor on my passenger side mirror is not working. Before I start tearing into the mirror, I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen.
The left/right motor is fine. It's not bound up and the mirror will move in all directions manually. It doesn't feel gritty or anything either. Ideas?

Is this happening all of the time?
When I remote start to warm it up, and then "start" it to drive, none of the mirror adjustments work at all. I need to shut off the vehicle, turn it back on, and then the mirrors work.
Just a thought.

Interesting. All of my other adjusters work. Driver side has no problems, but I'm gonna walk outside right now to try that

Did you ever figure out the issue with the passenger mirror motor? My passenger mirror motor has a similar issue, only it is the left/right motor that doesn’t function. The up/down motor works fine.

I had this happen. I grabbed my 12 pound sledge and took the whole mirror out. Then I drove the jeep into a lake. We shouldn’t have to live like this. We’re not animals.

Not yet. I've been working other stuff a lot lately so I haven't gotten to that part of my to-do list yet.

I removed both side mirrors and plugged the problematic passenger side mirror into the driver side wiring harness. The passenger side mirror motor worked fine in all directions. I removed the passenger side door panel, checked and found no signal for the horizontal motor function from the main door wire harness. The problem seems to be a broken wire where the wire harness passes through the door limiting strap. I ordered a new wire harness and hopefully that will correct the problem.

That's just wrong. It should still work.

Ah, these are going to be suffering the same issues the WJ had - broken wires in the channel where they leave the body and enter the door.
That was a common thing with those and yours is the 2nd or 3rd post I've see here with your problem with the wires.

That would seem like a easy thing to find and fix.

I replaced the passenger door wire harness and the problem was not corrected. Today I found the problem. There was a broken wire and two nearly broken wires inside the driver door limiting strap. I replaced the driver door wire harness and everything now works. I should be good for another 4 years or so.😀😀😀

Have you recently taken your doors off ... when I went from full to half doors(yes my half doors Power mirrors and now proximity) I had this exact issue (no up down) half door no up/down put full door back on it worked.. put the half door back on didn't work.. looked in the connector I had bent a pin . I straightened it out with a pin out and it was back to working

Yeah, that was a common thing and looks like it's going to be a thing to look for on these Gladiators as well. Flexing wires, who would have ever thought that flexing and vibration causes copper to work harden and become brittle. A problem with the WJ and others is also a "watch out for ......." With these

I guess I'll pull back my wire loom lead and see what's up...
