PM is a solid product for the price, but the way you wrote this is as if it can replace custom tuning and give you more down low torque. It is not even close to the same. Custom tuning is still less money than a set of tires and you get all the other perks like transmission tuning, cooling fan control, gear/tire size changes, plus the MPVI4 works on basically every platform now.
I think the confusion here is between “adds torque” and “requests more torque sooner.”
I never claimed the former. I clearly meant the latter.

So no, I wasn’t presenting a pedal controller as a replacement for ECU tuning — just as a very noticeable improvement in pedal response.

We all know what tuning does. We also all know what this thread was about before it turned into an infomercial.

There's no need to feel threatened here, most people considering a Pedal Monster were never going to be customers at 1400 bucks.

I understand where your coming from, and not trying to make this an infomercial. Definitely don't feel threatened lol I'm as easy going as they come and I'm sorry if you misinterpreted my tone.

But you said "it's not simply changing a throttle input of 20% to 30%, or whatever, it's commanding more TQ off idle."

I just wanted to clarify that It is not commanding more torque, it is commanding higher pedal voltage. Someone who doesn't know about tuning or the throttle controller can easily misinterpret that and think they are getting "more torque" by buying a PM.

I'm putting the info out there because it's not really out there from a tuning/calibration standpoint. . Plus you and another poster mentioned the tuning and the price, which yeah, sucks. $1400 is a tough pill to swallow. Even if I did my part for free its still $1000 investment to HP Tuners for everything which sucks and is out of my control. PM is a fine option for more response..

I had a pedal monster on my 3.6 JT with 37s for two years then moved it to the ecodiesel. To me it was easily worth the cost. The 3.6 drove better with the PM and 37s than without it on stock tires. This was with stock 4.10 gears. Without it, the Jeep was extremely sluggish but with it, no trouble pulling away from a light or merging in traffic. I’m sure tuning is a better option but I’m cheap and was happy with the improved throttle response.

Technically I don’t understand a lot of tuning data but I can assure that the difference of having a Pedal Commander and have done the BMP Tuning and the way my Gladiator runs now it’s far beyond better than before, for me it’s like having a much better engine and the transmission is to a another level, I do enjoy driving my Jeep now, I’m much happier with my Gladiator now and no I don’t even knew Brad before I started reading about him and his company I can say he is very dedicated, discipline and trust full person.

I've used the evc i-drive for a few years now, and it's night and day difference from stock. For off-road driving through technical spots, I have throttle control when I need it vs mash it and hope for something to happen. It definitely makes my manual JT feel almost like a sports car (brick) https://www.evcidrive.com/
