I'd have to do the math, but to keep scrub radius under control, with WIDER tires, you'd also need to move things out a bit to keep the intersection near the center of the tire.1.75" spacers with stock backspaced wheels and 12.5" tires works out just right IMO. These are Rubicon 17" stock wheels, same backspace as Overland I believe.

But to set them out with stock tires, or tires under the stock width makes no sense, geometry-wise.
Overland and Rubicon use the same backspace- I was comparing numbers when looking at "Rubicon take-offs" for my Overland. Makes sense in the math of things.
