I thought the recommended change interval was every 12K miles or at least yearly?

That really does not look that bad. The OEM charcoal impregnated filter media makes it look darker and more dirtier than it really is.

If you’re referring to mine, that isn’t the OEM filter for the diesel, it’s an aftermarket one off Amazon.

It is still a charcoal impregnated filter that is shown even if aftermarket.

You just pointed me to educate myself on what charcoal does in cabin air filters, thank you. I can assure you though, mine was disgusting and needed replacing.

When I went to the parts counter, the only replacement they had did not have the charcoal imbedded as the one from the factory did. Neither did the common auto parts locations in the area. I went to the Big A and purchased the following. Works like a charm.
