sounds like an aggressive build which is cool you can go in so many different directions with the same truck...

I ended up just fabricating one utilizing the hitch on our Grand Cherokee
When I read the post before scrolling down, I thought it would look hilarious, but I actually love it.

How bout let people do what they want with their own vehicles? Go drive yours the way you want, I promise we don't care.
I've had people get visibly angry when I've said I bought a Gladiator as a small truck rather than an off roader.

Reminds me of when I painted the fuel tank on my Fairlane red (it's visible from behind due to the old school stance). I had people blow a gasket at me. I told them: Don't look under the front end then! When I upgraded suspension and steering it became a mix of fire engine red, canary yellow, and neon green!

for the life of me I simply don't understand the thought process on what your vehicle should be or should not be...I have a Shelby Cobra replica, it's a monster of a car, it has absolutely no creature comforts, stinks, is hot and doesn't have a radio...but I love it. I don't race it, I don't take it to shows, I don't do smoke shows.....should I not own that vehicle because I don't race it?

Any concerns, or anything you have seen with the extra weight off the back? You thinking of doing a frame brace at all?

Oh shoot, well good to know. I have contacted shift and am going to do the same brace. Sorry that happened, but good to know it sounds like the right thing to do. I only plan on running a soft bed cover, but with a 40 hanging off the back, I was concerned.

It was. About 4.5 gallons of fuel sndv1 or 2 gallons of water plus all our camping gear. Second to last day of a week long trip around Sedona. No issues on all the trails/rocks up till that point where I needed speed to reach the top of a dune.

I just bought a 25 Rubicon and miss the look of the old rear tire so I want to get some options on what works best. I realize the backup camera is the issue so trying to find a solution that the camera will work with or I would need to purchase a camera extension cable of sorts. Thank you.
I love this look as well, Almost went with rugged ridge wingmate system.Still searcher for options

My point was you're making a bad departure angle far worse. If that doesn't matter for your use then it doesn't matter. I still want to know how these expensive bumper/spare tire carriers hold up if you do drop the tire on a rock. Even if you don't know from experience and that is not your intended use, I thought maybe in your research of these options you might have that information? I know sarcasm is hard for some, and even harder on text, but it is a legitimate question/ concern.
Grow up and who the hell cares what you think. . He doesn't care about departure angles. He just likes the look. Go ask people who use these rear bumpers / tire racks on people who wheel their rig and leave this guy alone who doesn't care about wheeling and just wants the looks of the tire carrier with a stock tire size.

Even if you don't care about towing capacity with your JT didn't you come across that info when researching the purchase? I'm sorry some of you think your threads are private and nobody is going to have a different use than you. Why people get all butt hurt when you ask a simple question about a product that you're researching is beyond me. It's a discussion forum...for discussing Jeep things. "Don't ask about the strength of the tire carrier, because I don't care"? Don't be so damn sensitive.
