Yeah. Mine is 5.5+ yrs old and it doesn’t have a spec of corrosion. I’m positive because I detailed every inch of it a few months back. After a few years of neglect…
Does rocks chipping all the paint off my door hinges count 🤔 😂😂

Huge difference running with or without the RSE or similar side steps. I've got pics showing the crap sprayed up onto the door hinges, doors, and front of the rear fender flares. Then the same type of driving 2 weeks later WITH the RSE steps and mud flaps - zero debris hitting the hinges. They stay clean now.

Hah. Surprisingly, only have a few chips there and it’s had a lot of dirt road hooning and also interstate miles.
So many gravel roads and sand and rocks here . Hard on my paint .

I had good luck looking for a Gladiator on Carfax. Good for looking at vehicles without damage It also allows you to see the original window sticker. I was looking for a Sport model and found one at a Toyota dealer a 2023 with only 12K miles. When I looked At the window I found out it had $20K in factory options It was a freedom edition with almost every option available. I paid $28K. When I looked at it it was spotless. It took me a few weeks to find it but it was worth it .

If you have a VIN, you can get a build sheet or window sticker going clear back into the WJ series of Jeeps.

I stopped by Tampa Jeep Flea Market this past weekend, great guys to talk with. Was told about a corrosion issue with all door hinges and aluminum hood, doors and tail gate panels. Sure enough the 2020 rubi Ibought has it in multiple places where the paint has bubbled. 5 year warranty and mine is 3 months past… Sure wished I had known before buying it.

Can't say "all". It certainly doesn't hit "all", but too many for sure.
Did you not give it a good looking over before purchase?
I usually look for signs of body damage, repairs, swapped panels and so on with used vehicles.

I had a good conversation with a tech at the dealership collision center I use - he said once they have made repairs, they never have it happen again (even before the TSB!)
They said it's an issue with water getting between the hinge and the door skin and thus up under the paint since there's no "seal" to prevent it. According to them, the "zinc shim" is a gasket, zinc being something that won't compress while torquing the hinge bolts back in place, yet soft enough to form a seal, and a metal that's neutral to both the aluminum door skin and the hinge material.
Makes sense since the hinge has sort of a radius to the back mounting surface and there's no way for paint to actually bridge the hinge and door skin and form a seal. Poor design. (and probably poor prep since this body shop has never had one do it again)

hey ms. short stuff i bought my 2021 rubicon new and have had ZERO issues. the axle problem some speak of is a sensor on the dana differential. if it is wonky you will see a problem light on the dash. the simplest preemptive fix is the z-automotive locker. 30 second install. i am unaware of other issues. what specifically was the "google" issue?
Can someone show me a link for this 30 second solution to this stupid rear locker light ?
I can get mine to go out if I turn it off and then I go a few hundred miles and it comes back. First time it did it I thought I actually had it engaged .
Been well over a week and all the sudden did it again. Annoyed and sorta pissed cause now every time I turn around something is messing up . Starting to get pissed off..
