So my 20 gladiator already had the upgraded radio in it at purchase. So what I’m finding with this radio is the only volume control is on my steering wheel. Am I missing something like a setting on the radio? Seems petty but the wife likes to dj(take over the radio) when we are out riding.

I this a base Sport? Most of the buttons are missing from your center console.

So that’s not factory. Someone had the 5.3” screen and updated to the 8.4 but kept the old center stack. You could change to the upgraded center stack but you’d have some controls with no use

The volume is down in the climate controls on vehicles that come with the 8.4 from the factory. Look at the dash in one of those and you'll see what's missing.

The area below the screen should look like this:

Notice the volume knob on the left, tuning knob on the right.

Looks like you had the 5.3" originally and it was swapped out:

Notice the volume and tuning knobs are on the radio itself.

Would you know where I could find the upgraded center stack?

If that’s even the 8.4” Jeep radio…
The bezel isn’t correct: someone stuck something with a touchscreen behind the existing bezel.

Id call to see if its even possible to just add a new control unit to your vehicle. I would assume there is wiring that may not match up if it didnt come factory with the upgraded screen. The connectors might be the same but you might need to put in some of the missing wires. For the brand I work for all the radio connectors are the same between the trims but wiring for satellite radio, camera feed, shifter feed, additional speakers, CAN wires are not there if they weren't there from the factory.

It’s a Panasonic radio, it has a lot of options that do work like nav and it has some cool apps that can be downloaded to it. I would just like to have a volume control on the radio.

Yeah then your SOL unfortunately. I’d recommend changing the radio out if it’s that important. Something like the stinger 10.
