This right here. You can't prevent companies from making aftermarket products for a particular vehicle.
Then why are all these companies holding their designs? Plenty of companies like rampage have workable tops to take to market. They just won’t because “reasons”.

Not saying your wrong, you probably aren’t. But my tinfoil hat says there is some legal reason why. Otherwise why spend the time designing something you think there is no market for?

I'm not sure why, I would think more along the lines of materials shortage and R&D as well as many companies being under staffed. True Bestop may have signed a contract with FCA to manufacturer a top for them but that contract doesn't stop anyone else from making their own design as long as it's not a exact copy of Bestop's design. If FCA could block manufacturers from making aftermarket parts then I would think there would be more money in controlling the bumper and fender after market over the tops, and you see how many options you got there, more than a few.

Well I know the design exists because I saw it in person on a sponsored vehicle at Jeep and Truck Fest by 4WP in Orlando. As for it not being on the market yet, I can understand the several points mentioned.

Who exactly are “all these companies” that have workable tops for the JT that just aren’t bringing them to market?

Suntops makes a frameless top and Rampage will now be bringing one to market.

You must have an industrial supply of tin foil ;)

Purchased this top for the wifes JLU. Overall, pretty nice for the money. As mentioned earlier, there is a “pocket” to place the rear and side windows in if so desired.
Another nifty feature I figured out, is after removing the rear and side windows, you can fold the back half towards the front, then flip the front back, and it pretty much secured the top directly above the soundbar. This way you still get the top off experience without fully removing the top.

This top is out. I have one in a box not even used. They sent me the wrong one. I’m going to be selling it. I’m in Arizona

Ok wait. I must be slow.

You ordered the JKU and they accidentally sent You the JT version.

are you sure it’s the Jt version? Maybe they just labeled the box wrong.
