I don't do any google stuff, but maybe my wife can post it. I'll check.
https://streamable.com/

No need for an account or anything, just upload and you get your link.

Also, have you checked the instrument cluster in the dashboard when you hear the ding, or cycle through the display options to see if you have any messages?

I think the disabled ESS theory that @Glad Jeeper pointed out might be it. I think it would have an associated message in the instrument cluster as well.

I can't speak for OP but I have no messages or warning lights/indicators, etc., and don't turn off the ESS.

Put the video up. Thanks for the tip!

Not sure it can help, but you can hear the beep near the end.
No messages. Maybe I can take another video if there is something else needed.

Yup, I have the exact same ding. No messages, just a single ding after startup. I believe this probably has something to do with a Tazer setting, likely ESS disabled.

Mine is completely stock. Never seen a tazer, no mods at all, ESS hasn't been touched, and it dings 5 times at start up. No warning messages, no lights, it's just beeps. It always has.

Does it matter if you start it with the in dash screen on the speedometer versus the trip details? I'm wondering if it won't show whatever message on that screen?

Also, I'm assuming there is nothing in the 'stored messages' screen on the dash?

That is most definitely a ding like something is not working. I get a ding with my tube doors on for BSM not being available but I also get a message on the dash saying such.

Yeah, probably ESS.

You don’t have the passenger seat buckled, but empty, right? Only other thought was “maybe” it’s an indicator about the passenger airbag being off?

There it is.
It’s the footwear detection chime.
Seriously, I believe it’s a timed seatbelt warning indicator regardless of
it being latched or not.
Or…it’s a coded message to subliminally tell you it’s time for an aftermarket parts purchase.?

Passenger present or not it still does it. Thanks, I was leaning toward ESS also, but someone posted they don't have a Tazer or ever disable it and they also get the ding.

My 21 JTR has the same single chime after startup, never gave it much thought but I do notice it every time
Do you have the park sense disabled?

I will try that again, but it seems to not make a difference IIRC. Thanks.

I get the initial 5 beeps too, but then after all the lights go out, there is another single beep.

Okay, got curious enough to do some testing. Mine only does the one ding 5 seconds after the 5 initial dings when you put it in RUN. If you just start it, it does not do the single ding 5 seconds after the initial 5, tazer in or out, makes no difference. Maybe it’s the “hey, start me” ding.

What's up with the 5 dings? Seatbelt not on or something less obvious?
