After 55 years of work... Whatever the hell I want!
Hi all. I just installed MAXZINA Ratchet Straps on my Gladiator. I love 'em. They are small and work well for tying down cargo in the bed.

I've got rails I made for mine - BUT - I like this idea as well!
Link to what you got and where?

I really like the low profile and it might just save me carrying other straps under the rear seat.

If I recall correctly, they make such things. I don't do that with my trailer, though, because it sits in the sun so the straps are in the tool box of the car hauler.

Maybe if you mounted only the ratchet part and kept the straps elsewhere out of the sun and just threaded them through the ratchet part bolted to the trailer when needed. That would work nicely.

I was imagining them haing a plastic cover or something like a bag over a winch

Would need to be pretty large to cover the amount of strap and the ratchet I use... on all 4 areas. Doable, I suppose. I'd not mind a permanently attached ratchet, at least, but covered to help prevent rust and worse.

They work great as intended. Home Depot plywood and fence picket runs.
They'll hold as much tension as many would need and are handy at all times.

How would one install this with rails? Remove the rails and install this underneath?

I like the rubber bands on the slack but being a prior sailor (USCG) I was always taught to tie off my slack over the handle

I have been looking at these for a while. Was there any issue getting the bottom bolts installed? It looked like they had the potential to be a little difficult.
