Found a spy photo that displays how DI Labs handled the fob battery..

Battery just slips in the battery cradle and you close the fob up.... no juggling a battery when you are go to close the fob up..

I dropped my beta unit on the ground yesterday. First time. Anyways the battery slipped from its little cradle and wouldn't let me in the truck. Simple fix, remove the screw reseat the battery, tighten screw back up was good to go. Glad I was still around some tools instead of not though.

I recently lost my fob since it's so small. At least it survived the trip through the washing machine.
I Sent one of my og fobs thru the wash about a week into owning the truck. Apparently all that did was kill my battery.

I knew what had happened as soon as the panic alarm went off. Battery was fine though, and inside of the battery area was dry (inside the O-ring).

I done this a few time myself, all I had to do was replace the battery and all was good. This is a problem with keyless entry/ignition fobs for me, I keep forgetting and leaving the fob in my left trouser pocket, I don't remember washing regular keys in the past.

@Lucky1

This was a problem with just the BETA fob... the issue has been addressed...

The final of the fob is different....

With the final fob offerings (2), (there will initially be a Mini and a Mini+) you will not see the battery being able to move out of the cradle so it does not make proper contact... SO, this issue was/is only beta fob related..

As soon as Carl heard of this beta fob issue, he did a design change..... it involves a change in the fob cover..

See the arrow in the pic below... It points to a design change... the raised line/piece, corrals the battery lets say, so it cannot move in the fob. There may be an additional change(s) but that is the change I noticed.. Anyway, no issues with the battery moving around now.

So are these ready for purchase yet?

I keep the fob clipped to my belt loop, so it's visible and I never forget, and also out of the way. But this one time I had done some concrete cutting, and the dust is super horrible for you. So I took my jeans off in the garage, bagged them, and then stuck them in the washer with as little contact as possible. Oops.

I have fobs everywhere, what have I done creating so many options? :CWL:

We're getting super close. We printed a bunch of different colors to validate colors and capture photos. Our beta team (you know who you are ;)) will get the first production fobs very soon. Then it's game on..... We may have a couple more weeks before the order page goes live.

The photos below are just a small snapshot of some of the options, if you look closely, you will see there are different textures, colors, and patterns.

Are you ever going to make a version that includes a way to carry the physical key in it as well?

You got the the just exact color I wanted, bright non-black.

The clear fob case looks interesting.

It's an age related issue.... I found once I reached 72 yo, I remembered to check my pockets before placing the pants in the washing machine..
I'm having a difficult time remembering to take the pants off before placing them into the washing machine. :crying:

Not quite 72 yet, but what's distressing is that I really try to check all pockets, pants and shirts, and still manage to find small bits of a rogue napkin all over the washer drum when the wash is finished!

We'll design a fob with a key cubby if there is enough interest. This is our current product plan:
Launch: 2 sizes - M & Mplus
March: fob which uses factory keypad
2nd quarter: water-resistant option

In the meantime, we have keyring adapters for the switchblade key.
