Anyone know where I can get just the exterior mount and bracket for the rear view camera. Mine is shot. Only thing I can find is the bracket with the camera which I dont need and is a little over 200 bucks.

Also what is the size of the screw that goes into that mount? I was going to go ACE Hardware and see if I could just get some Philips head screws to use.

I don't know but maybe @AllMoparParts.com does. Also looks like a JB Weld or epoxy job to me. lather that bad boy up, redrill the hole. put some thread sealer or hot glue in the stripped holes and send em on in. It'll take 5 hours, 3 auto part store runs, 1 Home Depot run, A meandering around tractor supply, a couple baby ducks for the wife, a case of beer, the entire curse word library, the second coming of Christ, some Jeep slander, and a hot sauce. perfect weekend.

This was the first thing I read this morning. Unfortunate for my wife, but I died laughing.
Good idea about the JB Weld. I'll start gathering supplies this week for the good time of a weekend ahead of me.
Thanks!

Sorry this is only sold as one assembly with camera but if you dont care about the housing color we can look for the cheapest version, Here one I came across so far
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-with-bezel-camera-assembly-6nn98ssead

better than the 200+ you mentioned.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
-Benny
Thank you so much for looking for that. If by housing you mean the outside exterior part, yeah that color does matter. Wouldn't want a blue or white camera housing on a solid black jeep, lol. For now I'm gonna try PuddleJumper's suggestion and see how it goes. It it fails or should say if I fail. I look into buying that.
Thanks again!

Hey just wanted to give an update, incase someone else run's into the same problem. I used JB Weld for plastics on the cracked part and bought 3 6/32 gun screws. They were just a tad wider than the originals but went in ok and stayed in after some pulling on them. All in all, cost me 15 bucks.
Thanks again for the help.

Do you know what caused this?
Funny enough, I had the same thing happen last week and noticed it while washing the vehicle. There's no damage on the tailgate. No scratches on the camera/exterior camera mount. I haven't backed in to anything/I don't think anyone backed in to me. I'm wondering if this is caused by vibration/heat cycling, as there's no dampening materials between the truck bed and the tailgate.

I noticed mine as well while washing the car, lol. I think its that the plastic bracket is just under too much pressure and it just ends up splitting where the screw holes are. I'm referring to the bracket on the inside of the tailgate.
Probably would have worked 10x's time better if it was metal. The JB weld along with the new screws I got are still holding it in place very tightly (knock on wood).

So, all three of the screws on the bracket ended up being broken off from the main bracket (part 6LY71DX8AD). Not a molded plastics expert, but it looks like the solo screw side was not properly stressed relieved and I'm not able to bend it back to be flush with the external housing without breaking the jbweld on the other side. Kind of sucks now because it's slightly canted and loose, and it seems like there's no place to actually buy just the interior part. I'm not willing to pay 300$ for the entire assembly when I just need a 2$ part.

If I find time to scan the part to just 3d print it, I'll post it here.

Sorry to hear that man. I dont blame you about spending the 300 bucks. That was my issue as well.

I don't know if this has anything to do with your issues. I am on my 3rd Gladiator. 2021, 2022 and now a 2023. On all three of them the back up camera seemed to be loose, as in moved a little when hand washed or dried. It's like the jiggle a little when going over with a towel or a rag. Since all three have done it I thought that it was normal. It always bothered me though. Anyone else noticed this? How did you know that yours was broken? Thanks

I never noticed it until it was loose/broken. I remember the exterior housing was somewhat tight fitting until the bracket broke on mine. So much so that when I took it apart I was surprised their design even worked lol. Even with the jb weld fix, it's slightly off center because I can't properly push down the repaired piece without breaking it again. There's a pull tab plastic piece that when slid into place should enough pressure on the mount. You'll know when it's broken, you'll put it in reverse and half your screen will be the inside of the housing. Atleast on mine.

Mine broke Sunday afternoon when I closed the tailgate. Hopefully my fix will work. I’m most definitely not spending over $200 for a whole replacement assembly and camera. When all I need is a 75¢ part. That’s absurd.
