Has anyone done a rear seat delete (full or partial) without installing a pre-fab storage system (i.e. GG)? I am trying to determine if just removing the seats will provide the additional space I need without investing in the most common storage systems. I travel solo with a dog riding shotgun so the rear seats are not necessary. Is the main (only?) benefit of the storage systems the flat surface above storage on the floor?
to answer your question, yes, I have done this without a seat delete system. It’s good for indiscriminately packing a bunch of stuff back there without worrying about keeping stuff upright but otherwise it sucks. Can barely fit a fridge appropriately. You’ll want the flat load floor.

That’s exactly how I was thinking of setting mine up but on the driver’s side. Smaller fridge but maybe same power station. How has that Jackery held up?

I have had no issues with the Jackery 1000 Plus. It ran the previous Dometic fridge and I now use it mainly to keep the internal battery in the EcoFlow fridge charged and to extend it's run-time. I recharge the Jackery either from the vehicle when it is running, from AC power at home, or from a solar panel that lives in the Jeep's bed box. If you go with a Jackery, I'd recommend one with the safer LiFePO4 battery over some of their models that still use Lithium-ion.

Depending on how long you need to run the fridge, you could do away with an external power source entirely if you go with one of EcoFlow's new units. They make a 35L model. It's easy to recharge the internal battery from the vehicle or from a solar panel. The Glacier Classic just started shipping last month. I've been extremely impressed with it. I pre-ordered one in April after using EcoFlow's fantastic solar generators for more than a year at my cabin that is prone to frequent power outages (was out for more than 12 hours yesterday).

Not sure if I’ll spring for the fridge from EcoFlow or not. I just sent them a whole bundle of cash for 2 DPUs with 4 batteries and the SmartHome Panel II. Power outages here are frequent and we need our well pump. Longest we’ve had was 10 days and running the gas generator that long and hauling water from town to flush a toilet was “unpleasant” at best. I do like that they have their own battery/inverter though. Makes power distribution for longer excursions more plausible.

Not to toot my own horn 📯 but I believe I did the original write up on a rear seat delete here with plenty of pictures. … it was for a full delete but can easily be adapted to a partial delete…

I built a 40% for my fridge based on this.
As far as nothing in the there. When we go on a long camping trip I remove the 60% as well and just use the extra space. The seats are huge and you will gain a lot of extra space.
