Has anyone done a rear seat delete (full or partial) without installing a pre-fab storage system (i.e. GG)? I am trying to determine if just removing the seats will provide the additional space I need without investing in the most common storage systems. I travel solo with a dog riding shotgun so the rear seats are not necessary. Is the main (only?) benefit of the storage systems the flat surface above storage on the floor?

Partial delete on mine. I used a decked system display i got for 50.00 on marketplace. Kept the drivers side seat. I have the full drawer for it but like just stuffing things below it for more room.

Interesting. I like what you did with just the top and only one side. Looking on the Decked site to do something similar. What drawer is this?

It was a partial unit that the sales guys get in the showroom. Fully functional but was cut down to single drawer

Looks good(the MLWK P O)
Is that a goose gear delete? TIA
Its definitely not the goose gear one, goose gear uses a rhino liner material and latches. That one is a DIY solution

Nope just a sheet of plywood I had laying around. Cut it to fit and then painted it with spray paint bed liner. I couldn’t justify the price of the goose gear for what it is.

I did my own from a sheet of plywood as well. I’m horrible with wood so the cuts aren’t perfect but it gets the job done for me.
I’ve since cut out two removable sections to be able to grab anything beneath the wood.

Do you have any wider angle pictures of this? I’ve been considering the 40% route. Just to store a power station on and a very small fridge if needed. I don’t see the need for a huge fridge if going camping really. A dozen eggs, some bacon, a few steaks, some veggies. And that’s only if the fam goes along. If it’s just me most likely I’ll be downing a broken down MRE for the day and getting right back on the trail.
I still need the 60% because I still have kids in school and they gotta get there somehow. :giggle:

I’m away right now but when I get back I can try to take some for you. You can just take the seat out to get a good idea of the space available.

Not to toot my own horn 📯 but I believe I did the original write up on a rear seat delete here with plenty of pictures. … it was for a full delete but can easily be adapted to a partial delete…

A year earlier: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/arb-fridge-install.18860/page-2

Here's what it looks like today with Ecoflow's newly-introduced 45L Glacier Classic fridge freezer. The fridge has a built-in 298Wh battery and a great app for controlling it.
