So, have honestly not read all the posts, so if this is redundant, sorry.
Thinking things catch fire after driving. Maybe smoldering material that you don't realize when you park.

Thinking out loud, seems to me that if you park it outside till it cools down then quickly move it into the garage you should be ok.

Not saying there isn't an issue, but I can't see how a fire starts if the car has sat undriven... How many of the 51 instances occurred after a drive and/ or how many were Spontaneous?

And no, I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night....

If they don’t send such a notice certified mail then the lawyers are gonna make a killing if it burns someone's house or property down

Hm my 2022 Ecodiesel apparently not on that list? (yet?)
I'm hoping the diesels doesn't make the list. They have a completely different wiring harness and what ever the flaw was may not be in these wiring harnesses. We'll see when the list comes out tomorrow.

What is the part number on your pump? Curious if it matches my early '21 build. In an earlier post on this thread I posted a pic of mine.
My read of the recall (as stated so far) is that it's not the pump, it's the wiring to the pump.

So we have 1,076,999 vehicles affected, 51 known fires, and an estimated 0.1% of the vehicles expected to have an actual defect. Nope, not going to lose one bit of sleep over leaving the truck in the garage.
What about that possibility of a meteorite strike?.....

Yea, Like the Eagle's song said many years ago, "Old Billy was right, kill all the lawyers, kill them tonight"...

I don't know how many times I need to say it, but I'll say it again. It's the connector, not the wiring.

"FCA US confirmed a loose electrical connection will result in melting of the connection, which could ultimately lead to a vehicle fire."

Yes and it's supplied to the factory as part of the wiring harness by some vendor, I'm hoping the diesels aren't on the list because their wiring harness is different, perhaps a different vendor, they may have multiple vendors and the affected ones only came from one vendor. At this point who knows? But people are checking their pumps, it's NOT the pump. It's sounds like it's a connector, but has anyone heard anything definitive? No.

The supporting document shown in post #36 lists the affected vehicles by model year, electronic power steering pump part number, and engine code. Yes, the ecodiesel is on the list (code EXJ).

As I noted earlier in post #84, Stellantis found that part of the power steering pump was manufactured out of tolerance which can result in a bad connection with the harness. The problem is with the pump, not the harness, though the problem can cause terminal push out in the harness connector.

I wonder what the difference is between those that are recalled and the 2020 model.
It can be that they changed suppliers and there is some kind of problem or defect with the new supplier. Or the same supplier had a large batch with whatever the cause of the issue was. Hard to tell. We will probably never know.

My understanding is that the recall won´t show up in the NHSTA database until tomorrow. Right now, mine shows no recalls.

On the govt recall site it gives 3 documents to download. I think it was 2nd one.
So yours came up on the website today? Then maybe mine is unaffected. I´m going to check it again tomorrow.

Really easy to miss when people don't read all the posts or people talk about Toyota trucks.
