had 3 instances of check engine light going on, two of which required towing back to dealer. In these two cases, engine sputtered, engine light flashed, felt like too little gas was getting to the engine (car was undrivable). The first time, they told me o2 sensor and spark plug codes popped up. they replaced all components needed to clear the codes and after a week, I took it home.

Second time it needed towing, same exact symptoms, this time they told me they believe they found the problem - a leaky valve gasket was causing a leak that was dripping onto the o2 sensor downstream. They are fixing the leak and again replacing sensor.

both times, the icon lit up on the dash that represents the auto stop/start system.

Anyone else dealing with misfires? I am not a mechanic, but I thought o2 sensor was in the exhaust system, dont know how oil is reaching it. Does this sound like a legitimate reason for these problems, or a problem with the ECU? My other question is why the hell is it leaking in the first place?

My other question is, what would you do at this point? Brand new truck and It has spent almost 3 weeks in the shop already.

O2 sensors are in multiple locations in modern vehicles.
They actually measure the difference between the oxygen in the outside air around them and the oxygen in the exhaust.

Rich Mixture - large difference between atmospheric and exhaust oxygen levels. (in exhaust stream vs. outside air) results in higher voltage output from the sensor.

Lean Mixture - the smaller difference between oxygen levels. (in exhaust stream vs. outside air) results in low voltage output from the sensor.

If it has to be towed in again, for the same problem, you might want to start researching the Lemon Law in your state .

absolutely. I believe 3 attempts at fixing the same problem can get you lemon status. Unfortunately, that means a total of 4 breakdowns.

YEP SAME thing here. Mine is in now. 1200 miles on a 2020 Rubicon, same symptoms as yours. Reading could be a CAM replacement. No towing, second time in, first time they charged the batteries.

Anyone considering lemon law for a vehicle - go to Google or Bing or whatever and type in "lemon law name-of-your-state"

You should find results specific to your location. In most cases it's pretty easy IF you have kept decent records.

Have you done an oil analysis or had to keep topping up your coolant? I’m dealing with two misfires already at 16,600kms. I have an internal coolant leak and I’m linking it to the misfires. First attempted “fix” was an injector. Second attempt “fix” is to replace my camshaft. Been waiting a month and a half for one to show up. So, they’ll “fix” that ….and I’ll still have an internal coolant leak causing my misfire. I CONSUME 2 cups of coolant every oil change. Tech says “coolant in the oil is NORMAL”.

You know what else is normal?….my camshaft is one of over 360 being unpacked and shipped out to various dealerships to fix other misfires right now.

Went to the dealership yesterday in Gainesville, FL and had to present the TSB after the 3rd CEL in 4 days. The service manager was unaware of the TSB. Waiting for an appointment for the CAM repair, software update. This is the second time I have had to present a TSB to the service center for a problem that was presented to them - with specific details that were outlined in the TSB. It appears Jeep needs a process where they contact customers who have advised them of specific issues - issues that are outlined on the TSB's - this one came out in March 2021. Since March I have called and taken my Jeep to them no less than 6 times. @JeepCares

I am having the exact same issue right now with our 2020 Gladiator Overland. We just passed 6,300 miles when it threw the P0300 code for the first time. The truck has been at the dealership for over a week and we have been stuck with a Jeep compass as a loaner. They ran tests for a coolant leak which turned up negative. They are replacing a camshaft on the drivers side tomorrow. I am hoping this is the "fix".

Edit: We picked up the truck today after a little over a week at the dealership and the truck is running good now. I included an image of the services done by the dealership below. Apparently there is a TSB "TSB#180024-21" out for this issue. Also attached is a photo oh my old camshaft which they replaced. The service manager stated there were a bad batch of these camshafts and a machining issue is what triggered these problems.
