Looking to get a dash cam to wire it to one of the aux ports. Don’t want any wires draping the control. Anyone have dash cam recommendation for this? Thanks guys

Hard wire it to switched power at the fuse panel. Easiest way.

When you hard wire it can you run the cables behind all the paneling so cables aren’t hanging everywhere?

Yes. Across the top of the windshield, down the passenger side A-pillar and in to the dash behind the glove box. Grommet for the main harness coming through the firewall is there.

Ok cool I’ll try that. Any recommendations on a good mini cam? Don’t need one with a screen, being low profile is more important to me.

I used this one for about 7 months in my JT

I just took it out and put this one in because I wanted something with WiFi and didn't need all the warning stuff that the HP had. Both these dashcams have great video quality day and night. If hp had a wifi version I'd get it because it's video quality is slightly better than the Anker

any tips on where to wire in if your don’t have the aux switches?
You will most likely need two items since the USB cable for the dash cams are usually about 5V and any place that you tap into will be 12V.

This can be used to tap into the stock electrical,

Instructions are on this link:

Then you will need some thing like this to bring voltage down to 5V

I ran switched power to behind my glove box. There I added a cigarette lighter plug. Ran the dash cam cable to there and plugged it in. All hidden.

Another option I got is an OWL camera. It connects to the OBD port. It's not a cheap option as it requires a fee but it is connected to the LTE network so if anyone bumps or walks in front of my Gladiator, I get a notification on my watch or iphone so it acts as a remote security system.

I like that. I didn't even know they had something like that. How has your experience been with it so far and care to share some video clips, I'm interested after reading about it. Especially the two way communication from your cellphone with someone inside the vehicle.

I’ll try to get a clip uploaded... as a bonus 67 designs makes a mount for it that mounts to their rail.
