Definitely not the aux, it is bypassed. He has two issues, ESS and remote start when cold. When cold, the battery voltage could drop enough to prevent his remote start issue. Working on the low battery voltage should be the priority as it could also solve the remote start when cold issue.

yeah i taught the same.... but when i bought the battery i was like thats it that should do it .. its ''brand new''

Diesel - don't these have glow plugs? How much power does that take? Don't they have to run a bit before it will start? Asking as a person with diesel tractor and OLD diesel experience, not the eco-diesel 3.0

At 12.3, it's already low. Toss in the start sequence, it's going to drop.
The battery is not being kept up by what little driving is being done, or, the battery isn't holding a charge, or, they have excessive parasitic draw from other things, perhaps.

If it’s actually brand new I’d put the aux back and take it to the dealer. How many days and miles?

Oh. The battery is new, not the Jeep. Got it. Did you replace the main and not the six, then removed the aux 7k later? If so, you could have killed your new main. The recommendation is to replace both at the same time.

No, don't remove anything. Connect to the positive as usual, and to the TOP of the IBS, one of the studs sticking up, not to the battery posts.

At 12.3 volts I'd not just a "tender" - I'd use a real AGM battery charger with at least 10 amps capability.
Tenders often can't do the job on a really low battery and 12.3 volts is around 50%

Does the diesel have an intake grid heater? GP's, grid heaters are big voltage drops. There's no telling if he had the ignition in run testing the voltage. It is best to check with a completely dead vehicle. I'd even leave the key inside as not to wake the thing up.

The reason we are not talking about a fuse array is because he has residential electrical knowledge. That's a plus! Now if he was a residential electrician and a network technician, automotive electronics would be a breeze.

That's why a buddy said I could easily do 6 figures as a Mercedes tech back in about 2010. (maintenance electrician, network tech, auto electric, network including fiber optics)

Definitely let it rest a while, with the key clear away from it. Walking around the thing with the fob keeps things waking up or woke up.

You don't have the aux installed. No need to disconnect anything except for the IBS connector.

Disconnect the IBS connector and hook up the charger AGM charger(important for longevity of the battery). When finished charging, let it sit for 15 minutes or so. Check the voltage. It should be 12.8 or better. Then plug in the IBS. Wait a day or two for ESS to fucntion and for your apps to reappear on your display.

Return your battery if below 12.8vdc. If you have replaced your battery with a non mopar battery the dealer will not warranty it or the diag if the battery is at fault.

Depending on what he's trying- no need to disconnect anything.
But if going for a full reset -charge and reset the IBS, then yeah.

Normally when charging though, you leave it all connected.
