I have never actually lost a set of keys and don't want to. start now. I have misplaced them but always found them. It's a matter of being organized .
Same, but I do things routinely. When I come home my keys, wallet, EDC & pocket knife go onto my hall table. Every time, without fail. First thing I do.

My wife? She loses her keys 14 times a day. Some people are just less organized.

I have a key to every car I have ever owned ...
I come home keys, wallet, and glasses go in my hat on the same counter space every night phone goes on night stand no change

However I'm noticing a pattern .....

Wife lost a set keys in May, then finds them in her jacket come Sept...calls me Oh btw I found the keys we lost 🙄

Don't get me started on phone chargers lmao. I leave chargers in a few places, my PC, my nightstand and my vehicles. Wife moves chargers around constantly and loses them. I tried everything I could think of but nothing takes.

best thing i did was get Key insurance wife washed a fob ... truck did a light show ... went to the dealer told them what happened 2 weeks later got a call to bring my truck and keys, told me about 30 mins and i got to keep the old dead fob so i got a threedom spare key holder
@Supazuk

You kept the old dead fob.... Hope you kept and used the RFID chip that was in it. Figures you used the key.

99 9/10% chance your old fob's RFID chip is aok/ usable. It was probably just the circuit board in the old fob that shit the bed. The RFID chip itself is not impacted by water as it is sealed.

Anyway, evaluate the RFID chip from the old fob. Then buy a Threedom key holder that along with the key it holds the RFID chip.

That's is the exact the key holder I used and yes I put my RFID chip in it ... It happened a year ago and the threedom key works good as a emergency back up, unlocks doors and tailgate, as well as push it to the start/stop button and it starts

Yes the electronics are shot. I tried a rubbing alcohol bath, then put in a bag of rice (works well on electronics that were only exposed to water). However, it went through the washer and I believe it was the detergent that did it in
