Going to be ordering a Mojave when the 2022 opens. My plan is to install a metal retractable tonneau cover. It looks like there are two options: Truck Covers USA and Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit.
Can folks comment on either of these?
It seems like the cons of the TC USA are price (though you get what you pay for)and the fact that you have to remove the bed rails.
Do either require drilling?
Thanks!!

Aside from price, the other downside is the bed space it takes up. Everyone uses their truck different but I couldn't live with this much bed space eaten up in an already tiny bed. Maybe the Gladiator version is a tick smaller but still.

Agreed. I’m willing to sacrifice the bed space, though. The MTBs will fit with a diaper on the tailgate which is my biggest concern.

Pace Edwards only required drilling two holes for the drain hoses. Been awhile but I think there is a plastic plug in the front of the box I drilled so the drain tube could be inserted in the hole and drain out the front of the box between the box and the cab. otherwise no drilling for the cover itself.

I think BakFlip is the only company that I would buy a tonneau cover from. I bought a Bakflip Tri-Fold unit used for my 2012 Ram 1500 when it was new. I was hit twice in the rear end the tonneau cover was damaged in both wrecks. My body shop called Bakflip to buy replacement parts and in bot chase Bakflip responded by sending repair parts free of charge. Later one one of the latches broke after I used the cover as a step while climbing on my roof without a ladder. Bakflip sent a replacement part free of charge.

They may not be the best, but company's customer service is second to none.

I got the retractable Ruged Ridge Arcus through Real Truck at a good discount from msrp plus a $150 rebate

it is a rebranded RNL, it’s solid and seems to work well, yes you loose 10” upfront

I'm shopping myself right now, and I noticed last night that Bakflip has horrible reviews on Amazon. Lots of guys saying that they are junk and also have water leaks.

How was the install? Does it lock on its own or with the tailgate?

The one on my truck didn't leak. The rubber did crack between the three pieces though after 9 years.

Install was easy - toughest part was re-tapping the M6 tapped holes in the bed sides

Latches closed to the the side rails you install, dogs on each side & is lockable. You can open/close the tailgate and keep it locked

I got the version without trail rails and they supplied 2 long extrusions that mount up to the M6 holes (they are shiny aluminum but you could paint black) as part of the kit

If you have trail rails you need ot remove the one on the headboard

The link above is my take on the rugged ridge. I do like the unit, but was just surprised by whole back story on the units. Like I mentioned I had to use all the shims to properly set it in the bed. It is pretty water tight as well. Only small leaks along the front of the bed when I use a pressure washer to remove mud. I might use a little more rubber seals along the front end.
