OK, I admit it... I'm getting jealous of all you Gen 2"s Everyone's rigs look GREAT! I'm still waiting for my ship tracking from Rhino. I also thought about mounting Rotopax on the side doors. There is a Taco online with them mounted on the side doors. I believe its a Photoshop job. I'm not sure if the hinges can take 8+ pounds jostling around on the trail. It would be supper cool if they could. I wonder if someone from RLD could chime in. It would save me from mounting them inside the bed.
I did reach out to them and they said the only option at the moment is to use the roof. I though about making a bracket that sits inside. That would leave the window open for me and one rotopax on each side. You will need to open the door to get to them but I'm ok with that. I cant wait to see what Rebel will come out with.

I just had my cross bars delivered, I went from having no bars last week and stressing about mounting my RTT to now having 8 cross bars (4 Reese's Explorer Cross Bar, 2 x Smittybilt Bars and 2 RLD)... Anyone in SOCAL interested in the RLD bars let me know what you have to offer. They were ordered as the 60" but my measurements show them at 57" - https://www.rlddesignusa.com/p/rack-systems/load-bar-kits/

Looks like she was at anchor to me. Hopefully heading to a dock and unloading soon.

I hope the 50's that I ordered aren't 47"

Some more RLD pics from the weekend. Overall I am very pleased with it. The vent on top actually works well at keeping the dust from drafting in during the ride like it did with just a tonneau cover.

This was a first day of running with 37" tires. If it helps these pix all have the Teraflex 1.5" front and Daystar 0.75" rear spacer kits. I think without the rear it would start to drop too much in the back.

Everyone out on the trail was very impressed by the cap. You'll be happy once the wait is over and you get yours!

One small nitpick is the weather seal around the rear window is somewhat open/sticks out so dust can collect there on the outside of the glass (no issues with dust coming in the topper from here). Not a big deal but it will just fill with dust and later mud once it rains if you don’t blow it out after a trail ride. Guessing one could redo the seal at some point but not a show stopper.

enjoy:

Cool pictures! For the front seal, I ended up using black colored outdoor sealant to close the gap. I applied it from inside the bed while the cap was on. It took almost a whole tube and I smoothed it out with my finger. I never had any water or dust intrusion after that.

This area looks just like the roads near Turkey Rock, where I was this last weekend! Were you guys out that way as well or is this somewhere else??

I personally would do without the windows. Not sure they add much value to the function but maybe some light and / or air.

Overall it is built heavy duty (a good thing). Some minor fitment issues in the front that can be overcome by bending some flanges 1/4 inch or so.

I also had some weatherstripping along the front edge of the bed from my hard tonneau cover which was an advantage to making a good deal. Others may need to add something there. It could be ok without as there is a heavy rubber seal on the bottom of the canopy all the way around.

Too soon to say what I’d change. Overall I think it is nearly what I expected and the function will overcome any flaws I find along the way.
so I just got mine and went to set up the brackets - but the bolt is too big for the pre-drilled hole in the front of the bed - did you drill yours out or go with a smaller diameter bolt?

Still need to put the platform rack up, and it was supposed to have windows (those panels are coming) - but love how it looks!

Wow, looks amazing! Congrats on finally getting it! How do you like the functionality so far?

And are those 35s you're sitting on there?

Pretty close actually! This was Metberry Gulch just to the west of Turkey Rock.

I think it was a smaller diameter bolt that Lee had in his shop there. The install happened so fast I really don't recall there being much of an issue on the front mount.

@MeanMachine looks good with the color matching. They don’t offer the doors matched?

How close is the paint? I really like when the canopy is paint matched.
