I went with the Gold/Bronze color (which is darker than I thought, but I like better) because I have the tab leather interior and no red dash. Otherwise I probably would have stayed with the Rubicon red theme.
I also have the tan interior. Love it. And the wife wasn’t a fan of the red panels, so all are happy.
I am thinking of changing out the rubicon decals and the side keep ones with ones from a white 392 as they are also bronze.

Took it for a drive. And….it shakes. The guy who mounted my tires spoke so highly of balancing beads, and I’ve never had them before. Disappointed. Not sure if maybe there’s not enough, too much, or what. I specifically asked for weights, and he said these would work. The tires are hard to balance I’ve heard, and the guy who I bought them from had a pile of weights on the previous wheels. Not sure what to do now. Get them dismounted and clean the beads out or….
Maybe discount tire guys will see this and comment. I wish there was one around me to take them to.

I've never used balancing beads. It could be too little or too much.. Both would mess up the actual balance of the tires. I used to work at a tire shop, and I always use tape weights. Especially with aluminum wheels.

Okay!!! It’s here! What a crazy ride with the dealer to get it in my driveway. I said I would post follow up pics. The poke is more than I would like. Eventually when these 12.5’s wear out, I will move to a skinnier 35”. Just got home last night with it, and started work on it this morning.

The wife helping as you can see!!
Why would you go skinnier? The reason to stay wide is for footprint when you air down.

Yeah. I just wanted less poke, and I don’t go off-road in a way that needs me to air down. If I did air down often, I would keep the width.
My off roading is more muddy back roads and trails around lakes.

I have 12.5s. Considered wider. I'll air down a lot on sand and rocks so will need the footprint.

I would think for the mud you would meet MTs and wide... no?

It’s nothing serious what I’m doing. I could get away with stock tires pretty much. I also have the XR flares to go on yet so it may still grow on me.
We are heading to Utah this May, and I’d like to try a trail or 2 at Moab, so airing down there will likely be happening. I’ve never done that type of wheeling so it will be a good learning experience.

So I took it back to the shop that mounted them, and he worked on it all day. Says it still has a shimmy at 105km/h. He can’t get it to balance. I believe he took the beads out, and used tape on weights. He thinks it’s the tire that is the problem. But I had these tires mounted on stock wheels on my wife’s JLU and they were perfect. So I’m left scratching my head. Another shop suggested I need hub rings. I was pretty sure the rocktrix wheels didn’t need them, so I double checked and it’s the proper bore size. No rings needed.
So I’m left with a shaking truck, and either live with it, or buy better tires?

You ever sort this out? I want these wheels and some 37 KO2s. Thanks.

Yes. Sort of. It shakes a tiny bit. It’s the one tire that is the culprit. Not the wheels at all. They are great so far. We moved the tire to another wheel to rule that out.
I’m going to buy 4 more for my boat trailer to match!
Go for it!!

Bringing this back up from the depths.
Time for some new boots. I have gotten almost exactly 106,000kms out of these tires. Crazy. I think I got my use out of them!

It’s in the shop now getting 35 12.50 17 sailun terramax AT’s. I wanted the RT’s but we recently moved and will be doing lots of highway. I’ll post a pic of them once they are mounted.
I originally wanted 37” BFG’s, but until I can get the front end upgrades done, I didn’t want the wife to have any issues with anything.
Also, on a side note, my check engine light came on on my way here and says it’s the DEF system. 245kms till it won’t start. Lovely.
