Roll N Lock XT

I am debating getting the Roll N Lock XT for the back of my Gladiator and was wondering what experiences those with it have had? How has it held up? Any regrets?
I currently have a Diamondback cover with the Front Runner cross bars for the RTT. I would assume since they are just a T-track bars, they would work with the Roll N lock. Of course cant find any information on how much the T-Tracks on the Roll N lock can support, but it does seem like a RTT is doable from the forum posts I have found here.
I do really like my Diamondback, and it works great when the tent is on top. However when I want to do "truck stuff" its kind of a pain to take the panels off and unbolt the middle section.

I have the roll n lock m series XT. It's been on for about a year and works just like you'd expect. No issues. Didn't have trail rails, I used the ones from the tonneau. Very dry with just a little bit of extra sealant. I sometimes wonder if I should have went with Diamondback, just so I could thrown anything anywhere on top of it; but then it woudl be more difficult to haul truckloads of firewood. I went with a compromise: roll-n-lock with a half-rack mounted above it, that comes off easily (but in practice very rarely comes off).

I have VooDoo VRS Rails mounted with the roll n lock now. Depending on how the load was distributed, the t-rails would probably be fine for most things. I didn't like that the t-slot rails don't extend all the way to the front of the tonneau because of the cannister. That will shorten the distance between the uprights of any rack and, to me, looks weird, and is a problem for the canoes I want to carry up top.

It's all a series of compromises. I still haven't found the perfect solution to haul a couple long canoes above a soft top, but I'm getting close to making a custom rack that mounts to the VRD Voodoo rails, which feel super solid and extend the entire length of the bed. That could be an option

This may be exactly the post I needed to find. I just had the Roll-N-Lock M series installed. I did not get the XT track bars for the reason you mentioned - too short. I really like the Voodoo Rail system. I reached out to Voodoo to see if the Voodoo Rails would be compatible with my Roll-n-Lock without modification of either the Tonneau cover or the Voodoo rails. They asked whether the cover looks like it will allow the rail to fit under.

I take it from your photo that the answer to that question is "Yes". In fact, it looks like you were able to have the Voodoo rails fit under the entire length, including the rectraction housing. Am I seeing that right?

I can confirm that the VooDoo VRS Rails and the Roll-n-Lock fit without modification to either one. You'll need some thicker weatherstripping on the back, and I put some of the weatherstripping that is two "bulbs" (i don't know how else to describe it) under the VRS and it is bone dry. i didn't have the Trail Rails, so the VRS Rail I bought came with it's own version.

I did use all the angle shims that came with the roll-n-lock to level it per their instructions, but it has worked fine for me and is super solid. Solid enough that I"m wrapping up the custom canoe rack which will bolt to the VRS Rails. I also 3d printed a few drink holders and speaker holders that clip to the VRS rails... it's handy having something running along the top of the bed to mount things to.

I’ve had my Roll N Lock for three years now with no issues. We upgraded to the XT a year ago and the T-slot rails are a game changer. We went with Billie Bars as their system is T slot compatible and they have everything imaginable mounting wise for your peddle bikes, canoe, kayaks etc. We couldn’t be happier with the tonneau and Billie Bars.

We ground tent so the short 6” high Billie Bars is just used to tie down all the long bagged heavy stuff like the Gazelle T8 Overland tent, Kitchen tent, chairs, cargo boxes. Last year we started off the season with the Rino Rack Premier platform, (and that worked very well conforming it to T slot) but then the platform wasn’t needed after all.

The more weight you have to tie down onto the XT rails, the more anchor bolts you should have into the Trail Rails. Right now we only have two anchor bolts per side into the trail rails and the load was solid.
