I always turn my ESS off too...that and the heated seat are the first buttons pushed after starting. LOVE my heated seat, even in the summer as it helps with my sore back.
I've been driving for the past few years shifting into neutral coming to a stop, and staying in neutral while sitting at a light, stopped. Pop into drive and gently take off when the light turns green.
I look at it this way...in idle with the vehicle in neutral, it will use less gas (how much? Zero clueage
) because it doesn't have to add that smidgen of throttle to counteract the engaged transmission to maintain the 600 RPM idle speed.
