Good evening, new to the forum and jeeps. Just purchased a 2024 JT rubicon. I am waiting for my smartcap and load bars as we speak. And have purchased a tuff stuff alpine 61. So know that this will come over my hard top. I am trying to see if there are any half racks that only go over the front of the roof while still allowing for the removal of the freedom tops.
I have been searching Google for two days prior to coming here. Any help would be appreciated, thank you all.

Sherpa makes their Moonlight rack for the JT and it comes in a few different lengths for different campers.
Hope that helps!

Thank you. I will check it out. There is so much and so little information all at the same time if that makes sense.

I have a Smittybilt Defender Rack (45304JT).

Not familiar with Omni Garage, but after a Google search they have it for $271 which is a no-brainer.

Here's a pic of mine. Use it with the Sunrider

I bought this el-cheapo off eBay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/404570293480

It comes as a full rack that covers front to rear of your top. I wanted it set back from the front a little so I didn't get glare from the LED lights I mounted along the front of it off my hood. So I just cut it down to size.

Super simple to cut (aluminum) and the corner pieces fit together "male into female". So just cut the female side pieces to whatever length you want and the corners slide in same as original length. (I cut mine back about 11")

BTW: with a rack up top you will find it interferes with your SiriusXm antenna. If you plan to use satellite radio - relocate that antenna. Rather than remove the original and move it, I opted to just buy a used antenna off eBay for $30. I slid it between the hood blanket and the hood so that it's now resting right under my plastic vent (Rubicon). Got a Male/Female extension cable from Amazon, routed it through the firewall and just pulled the radio and swapped cables from the stock cable to my new one. I get better satellite reception now than I got before putting the rack up top.

Here is the link for the Sherpa Moonlight rack which wad initially developed for Shaun who has The Story Till Now YouTube channel. However, their regular roof rack, which is what I have, is a two section rack and you can remove the front half if you want to remove your freedom panels, or just use the front half if you need room for a RTT. The Moonlight was developed specifically to clear the AluCab canopy that extends to far forward. Of you go to The Story Till Now, Shaun does a complete review on one of his videos and there was a TSTN discount code as well. Sherpa is a great company and they are very supportive of the 4x4 community and helping to keep our trails open!

Here is the link to Shaun's The Story Till Now channel and I mistyped above, Shaun runs the Go Fast Camper canopy, but for the same reason, he needed a different rack that would work with his set up.

Thank you to everyone that’s replied so far. I think the Sherpa is looking like a contender. I may just be asking for too much which has been known to happen. The idea of taking the rack off removing the tops and then putting the rack back on isn’t terrible. And honestly the more I think about it if I’m over landing 9/10 times the top will be on anyway. Appreciate everyone.
