Ordered a Smartcap for my Mojave. Curious if I should plan on adding airbags to the rear springs. Seems like a fairly cheap way to equalize everything. Just curious what other Mojave owners have done. Thanks.

The Smartcap weighs about 175 pounds. I added the roof rack and table, which brought it up to 250 pounds. It definitely reduces the rake. The payload on my Overland was only 1032 pounds to start with.

I would wait until it's installed and see what the actual affect is.

I didn’t want to use air bags and I do tow, haul and off-road with my Mojave , I went with a set of Max tow rear springs which are shorter then the Mojaves and put in a Icon anodized aluminum 1 3/8” spacer very happy with results firmer ride in rear but ride is still great….Jack
I can’t take credit for it, Chris “White Rabbit” here helped me with it, RIP Chris!

Smartcap, Decked system, load bars and box mounts. I went from Clayton 3.5” to 3.5” HD springs and that was that. Offset the new stuff and to me it keeps the same ride

RSI SmartCap installed about 1 month ago. I'm not a great DYI'er when it comes to large items so had distributor put it together and lift it onto the bed. I witnessed the team of 4 guys carefully place it on the bed - well worth the price of professional install. Have not noticed any effect from the weight of the topper and it is SOLID. Did an unscientific MPG test on trip to get it installed ( 161 miles to Yakima installer and 162 miles back) Mileage IMPROVED by 2 mpg ! We'll see if that is a long term effect but happy so far. I also bought the SmartCap load bars and installed them this week. Again , super well made but at 3 1/4" wide, a lot of my vintage racks need some modification to fit. I'm a Happy Canopy'er.

I noticed the sag on mine after adding smartcap, frontrunner roof rack, steel bumpers, winch and recovery tools. Im planning on getting Dobinson adjustable shocks and HD weight specific Dobinson Springs (apprx 800lbs-1200lbs) with my 3in lift kit when i have the funds. Im building an overlander so thats always been part of the plan.

I'm having a RSI dealer install as well. I want everything to be perfect.

Got my smartcap. I went ahead and added the air lift bags. This is with the minimum 5psi.

I have the RSI SMartCap EvoA with a Frontrunner roof rack, OVS 270 awning, and Decked system full of recovery gear and tools on my Mojave. I was driving uphill full time with that setup. Temporary fix for me was a 1" spacer on the rear springs.
I am debating between airlift and stiffer springs to level out long term. I haul a lot of gear and may be adding an RTT, but rarely tow (1-2 times a year maybe).
Not sure what would be the better option, but currently leaning toward the air bags since I would be able to adjust for the RTT should I get one. Any insights appreciated.

I think I'd just get some helper bags from airlift or firestone. Easy to adjust on the fly.
