Anyone have any updates?

I got tagged yesterday with a $109 ticket and no require a vehicle inspection within 30 days. So either I make my truck look ghetto and use some plastic edging or go back to the OEM wheels/tires.

My state has this prohibition also, as I'm sure many others do. Don't understand why no after-market US/Canadian companies have jumped on this. Pity for you that you live in a state/province that strictly enforces its laws...like they are supposed to...guess everyone will need to start getting tickets for the companies to respond.

Ya its kinda shit, I was just out for a sunday drive, not even doing anything reckless. There was a cop going up and down the hwy tagging as many people as he could for minor infractions.

I knew this might eventually happen, its just frustrating to have to revert back to stock until I figure out a way to make it road legal.

In my state Victoria Australia ?? we have the same issue as soon as the authorities see the tyre outside the guard there all over us..the only solution I have is these aftermarket flares https://doubleblackoffroad.com/prod...-gladiator?_pos=1&_psq=dbor nort&_ss=e&_v=1.0

That's exactly what I've been looking for, but $900 (Aus)!?!?!?! And they say they're only for the Rubicon, so I guess they won't work on my sport fenders. Very cool find, regardless. Thanks for sharing.

DBOR also have 2.5” flares that work with the max tow fenders. All the Rubicon Gladiators in Australia come with the US max tow spec fenders.

Sadly DBOR posted that their flares will not fit US/Canada spec vehicles. Nobody here is currently producing flares that look decent with proper tire coverage, I've exhausted the search.

I installed my OEM wheels/tires back on. I currently have some new wheels on order with a different backspacing. Since nobody makes flares I figured I can maybe change the wheel setup and see if that'll work.

Easy to avoid, don't buy a wheel with massive negative offset. My 35x11.50x17 tires on stock wheels are tucked nicely.

I had black rhino wheels with a -18 offset and 35x12.5R17 grabber X3s. Black rhino recently released the same wheel with a +30 offset. I bought a single wheel from a local shop and will be test fitting it. I've heard mixed feedback about fender coverage but nobody seems to have posted a decent picture yet.

Update - I was able to get the wheel/tire mounted. Here is what they look like side by side. The old wheel w -18 offset is on the floor. Center caps were left off for now.

You need offset and width to have a clear picture of where the edge of the wheel sits in relation to the hub.

I always refer to AEVs wheel fitments as they're about perfect.

Thanks for the reply. This could solve the issue that many have...HOWEVER, is that price for 1 or a set of 4?

I’m looking at the BL Armory in the same spec for my Gladiator. One local owner has gone with the Arsenal 8” +30 offset and it looks like it works well (I think these are 35” x 12.5” tires).

Off topic, I’m an expat Canadian from Vancouver Island! Good to see some Canadian content here! ?
