Rubicon stock tires measurements?

Hello, can someone help me understand the 33" measurement? I only get 32" when I use a tape measure. The pics are a bit deceiving; they make it seem even less than 32"

I think (285/70/R17) are actually 32.8 but I think that is the unloaded height on a nominal wheel width at pressure. They are always shorter than advertised.

A tire squats when loaded. If you had no load on it, it would be much closer to 33.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about the load reducing the tire size. That explains it.
