I have a 2020 max tow and I towed my boat from Houston to Dallas with no trouble. Mostly flat hiways but that's what I have in Texas. Towed at 70-75+ fine mostly stayed in 6th or 7th gear. Was on 37s with stock 4.11 gears. It hand fine other than the revs didn't really notice it much. The trailer also has its own brakes. It pulls up the boat ramp with no problem. I do use 4hi just to be safe. Only issue i have is milage is about 10-12 , but all my jeeps only got about that so mo big deal.

I tow a 21' Malibu Wakesetter 21VLX w/ a 2020 Gladiator Rubicon w/ absolutely no issues. This includes local lake runs as well as driving 7+ hrs from Northeast Ohio to Lake Cumberland, Ky every summer. I maintain a speed of 70-75 usually (sometimes 78-80) w/ no problem and don't have sway issues either (although I did 1 time and that's cuz the wind was catching the cover weird as well as I thought the people I was with unloaded the boat storage lockers, cooler n other stuff that added weight to the rear of the boat and off the tongue weight but I pulled over n remedied that n educated the people that were *supposed* to unload the boat into the truck bed 🤨🙄).
Whenever I am taking out tho I ALWAYS put it in 4H just in case there's a slime covered ramp...I've never gone backwards when taking out.
Hope that helps

You will be fine. The Gladiator is an all-around great and versatile midsize truck. It does many things well, but if we are being honest, it's probably not "the best" at most of them. Which IMNHO is fine for an everyday vehicle.
There are better tow vehicles.
There are better off-road vehicles.
There are better convertibles.
There are vehicles with bigger payload capacities.
But the Gladiator hits a sweet spot for being the only option that does ALL of them, and as a bonus is reasonably good at all of them as well. That's why a lot of members here are repeat owners.
